Fire breaks out in ICU of a private hospital in Muzaffarpur | Photo Credit: PTI At least three patients died and others were injured in a massive fire which broke out in the wee hours on Thursday (June 4 2026) at a Muzaffarpur hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in north Bihar. The death count is expected to go up. The fire broke out at fifth floor of the Prasad Hospital in Muzaffarpur district at 3:55 a.m.. “We received an emergency call at around 3:55 a.m., and a team was rushed to operate rescue efforts there. Around 15 people, mostly admitted patients, were evacuated from the ICU of the hospital”, said Ram Niwas Pandey, an official from the fire department of Muzaffarpur while, adding, the “other patients have been shifted to nearby hospitals”. The fire servicemen later controlled the inferno and brought the situation under control.
