A 16-year-old girl was allegedly held captive, her limbs tied, in a rented house in Nagpur and repeatedly sexually abused by a youth from Thane whom she had befriended on Instagram, police said on Wednesday. Police broke open the door of the room in the city’s Dighori area around 11 pm on Monday and rescued the girl. The accused, Nirbhay Pakhare, was arrested at the spot, officials said. The accused, Naresh alias Narendra Pandurang Dahule (40), has been arrested in neighbouring Chandrapur district and charged with murder and destruction of evidence, they said. The victim, also aged 40 and a resident of Chimur in Chandrapur district, was married and had a son. Dahule and the woman, who were classmates during their school years, rekindled their relationship through Facebook in August, said the police. They soon got into a romantic relationship and decided to elope. However, on November 26, while attempting to carry out their plan, the couple had a heated argument over their future together. A serial hoax mailer, who was detained in Maharashtra’s Nagpur for sending nearly 100 emails targeting the prime minister’s office (PMO), top government officials, and various flights and trains across India intended to publish a book titled “Atankwad-Ek Tufaani Rakshash (Terrorism: A Demonic Storm),” The Times of India reported. The suspect, Jagdish Uikey, intended to publish a book titled “Atankwad-Ek Tufaani Rakshash (Terrorism: A Demonic Storm). (Hindustan Times) Jagdish Uikey, 35, from Gondia, a Maoist-affected district in Maharashtra, had emailed the PMO and other officials approximately 100 times since January, seeking endorsement for his book on terrorism, according to Nagpur DCP for cybercrime, Lohit Matani.
