Ahmedabad Customs seize suspected ganja parcel from Thailand disguised as wooden blocks

Customs officers at the Foreign Post Office (FPO) in Ahmedabad have seized a parcel originating from Thailand after discovering 467.5 grams of suspected ganja concealed inside and declared as “wooden blocks”, officials said on Tuesday. The seizure was made during the routine examination of imported parcels at the FPO. According to Customs, officers intercepted a suspicious carton arriving from Thailand that had been declared as “wooden blocks”. On opening the package, they found two polythene packets containing a substance suspected to be ganja (cannabis). PIL in high court seeks voice forensic test in Punjab IPS officer misconduct case; hearing on May 5 | Chandigarh News

A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking a forensic voice analysis in a case involving alleged sexual misconduct by a senior police officer. The case is scheduled to be heard on Monday. The petitioner, Nikhil Saraf, a Supreme Court lawyer, filed the PIL after the Punjab State Commission for Women and the state Home Department didn’t take any action with regard to his earlier representations regarding the matter. The petition requests a scientific analysis of audio clips submitted on a USB drive to determine whether the voice is genuine or artificially generated.
