More than 600 kg of narcotics have also been seized in this time period. Prabhat also issued a stern warning to Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti, who he said was involved in pumping narcotics into India. “A warning to Pakistan-based Shahzad Bhatti, who is ISI’s acolyte and partner in pumping narcotics into India: We will hunt and hound you and your associates, and decimate your evil infrastructure,” the DGP said. He further said that Jammu and Kashmir ranked first in the country with 240 detentions under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (PITNDPS Act) in 2025. New Delhi, The Delhi Police has arrested three men, including the kingpin, and claimed to have busted a ‘nationwide narco syndicate’ involved in the manufacturing and distribution of banned narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, an official said on Friday. Tablets and syrup worth approximately ₹1 crore were recovered and machines used in the preparation of Triprolidine hydrochloride and Codeine Phosphate syrup including packaging materials were seized from their possession, they said. The accused were identified as Samaludden alias Sadik , a resident of Agra; Mohammad Gulzar , a resident of Narela; and Salman , a resident of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, the police said. An IT professional was arrested by the Excise allegedly with 450 grams of hybrid ganja from an apartment in Pulleppady on Monday (December 23). The arrested was identified as Karan Vanchani, 29. He had allegedly bought the drug from Bengaluru for ₹50,000 eyeing the Christmas-New Year celebrations. According to the excise, hybrid ganja has become increasingly popular among youngsters. The excise team had in the past also seized the drug during attempted sales after being procured from countries like the US and Thailand by courier, the excise claimed. A tip-off received by Ernakulam excise enforcement and anti-narcotic special squad circle inspector P. Sreeraj led to the seizure. A team led by inspector K.P. It was the biggest drug recovery in India. During the drug haul, four accused were also arrested by the Delhi Police. The investigation led to two more arrests in Amritsar. Within a week, the investigation further led the Delhi Police to another drug haul, where the Special Cell seized 208 kg of Cocaine worth Rs 2,080 crore from a rented shop in West Delhi. Delhi Police later discovered that the drugs confiscated in these raids were actually manufactured in a unit in Gujarat’s Ankaleshwar. On October 13, a joint team of Delhi Police and Gujarat Police raided the Avkar Drugs Limited Company in Ankleshwar. The Customs department on Monday said its officials have seized over Rs 100 crore worth of hashish and ganja from Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu, reported the PTI. According to the PTI, the officers of Tiruchirappalli Customs Preventive Commissionerate made the seizure from a shed located in a prawn farm in Mimisal village. A post on the official `X` handle of Tiruchirappalli Customs (Preventive) Zone said the seizure was made on the basis of information. On receiving information that huge quantities of narcotic substances like hashish and ganja were stored in a shed located in the prawn farm “for being smuggled out of India to Srilanka,” officials rushed to the spot, it said. “The shed was thoroughly examined and 48 bags containing contrabands like Hashish and ganja were recovered. As there was no power supply in the shed, the contraband was taken to the nearby Customs office. After testing it was found that the goods were Narcotic Drugs viz., 100 kg of Hashish valued at Rs 110 crore and 876 kg of dry Ganja, valued …
