In Konkona Sen Sharma’s Accused, MeToo becomes a narrative prop to pardon its terrible central character of any real consequence | Bollywood News

5 min readMumbaiMar 5, 2026 08:05 AM IST Few films escape the gravity of their logline. Fewer still are crushed beneath it. And then there are those rare ones that live and die within it, never venturing beyond the horizon it sets. Accused, Netflix’s latest, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment and directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, reaches for the first. A story that might unfold into something larger, something alive. Yet, as the narrative drifts, it breathes in compromise, flirting with the second. And by the end, one recognizes the inevitability of the third. Its logline, taut and compelling, could scarcely be more arresting: a celebrated queer doctor in London is accused of sexual misconduct, and the shadow it casts soon stretches over both her personal and professional life. This premise holds within it a universe of possibilities: a probing character study, a MeToo reckoning, a complex relationship drama, even the suspense of a whodunit.  Accused yearns for all of these worlds, and in its yearning, it settles for none. There is no sin in …

Daily Briefing: AI for all — India’s pitch at Impact Summit in line with G20 narrative | Live News

A night of Varun’s bowling mastery: The night India served a 17-run defeat to Netherlands, the deception and trickery of India’s bowlers remained unfathomable for their European opponents – unused to facing bowlers of this mettle. Even though the batsman in Orange second-guessed Varun Chakravathy’s googly and averted it, pluck wasn’t set for victory against a team skilled at shaping their own destinies. While openers Michael Levitt and Max O’Dowd repelled Jasprit Bumrah and Co for five overs, their resistance was short-lived. Sandip G writes: “O’Dowd wouldn’t survive Varun’s mastery. The vicious drop undid him. He tossed the ball a bit and lured the batter into an agricultural heave. He missed it, turned back and saw the stumps distorted.” With that, let’s move on to the top stories from today’s edition: India AI Impact Summit 34 encounters in 3 months in Punjab The Great Nicobar Project 🚨 Big Story As part of its key deliverables following the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Delhi is likely to push for more “democratised” use of AI, with focus …

Last Updated:January 31, 2026, 12:39 IST The party pointed out that the CBI has recorded instances of systemic corruption, manipulation in procurement procedures and deliberate dilution of quality checks. Image used for representation The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday strongly condemned what it described as a “false narrative” being spread around the Tirumala laddu issue and unequivocally stood by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s September 2024 statement on the presence of animal fat in laddu ghee, asserting that it was based entirely on facts and official records. In a statement, the TDP said the Chief Minister’s remarks were not political commentary but a fact-based disclosure grounded in a July 2024 test report by the National Dairy Development Board’s CALF laboratory. The party noted that NDDB is a statutory institution established under an Act of Parliament and that its CALF laboratory is NABL-accredited under ISO/IEC 17025, which it described as the gold standard for forensic and food testing credibility in India.
