Review ops once a month, Amit Shah asks CMs of Naxal-hit states

Union Home Minister Amit Shah Monday said the fight against Naxalism is in its final phase and asked Chief Ministers of all LWE-affected states to review anti-Maoist operations once a month and the DGPs to conduct reviews once every 15 days. Addressing CMs and top officials of Naxal-affected states, Shah said, “By March 2026, with everyone’s cooperation, the country will be completely free from this decades-old menace. Image Source : PTI The NIA conducted extensive searches, leading to the seizure of incriminating documents and books related to the proscribed ban outfit leaders The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday is conducting searches at multiple locations across four states against leaders of the banned outfit.  According to reports, the NIA investigations have indicated that several frontal organisations and Students Wings have been tasked to motivate and recruit cadres and propagate naxal ideology with the intent of waging a war against the Government of India. They were accused of conspiring to commit acts of terror and violence in furtherance of this agenda, said NIA sources. The four states being raided in the Naxal case by the National Investigation Agency included Punjab Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Earlier on Thursday, the NIA carried out searches across seven states in India in connection with a case linked to leaking classified defence information through a Pakistan-based espionage racket. Singhbhum LS seat is also home to Saranda, Asia’s densest Sal forest, which is one of the worst-hit left-wing extremism zones in the country. “On Saturday, a total of 95 polling parties were dispatched via a special train from Chakradharpur to Rourkela. Upon reaching their destinations, namely Manoharpur, Jaraikela, and Posaita stations, they will continue their journey on vehicles and foot to reach their assigned polling stations,” West Singhbhum deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Kuldeep Chaudhary told PTI. Police in Naxal-hit Gadchiroli launch awareness drive to boost voting

To increase voter turnout, police in the Naxal-affected area of Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, have launched a public awareness drive ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. The campaign`s goal is to educate citizens about the importance of voting and encourage 100 per cent voter turnout in the region, reported ANI.  As per the report, to ensure smooth voting during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, a large police presence has been stationed in the region. Authorities have urged citizens, particularly those in Naxal-affected communities, to vote without fear.
