Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday directed officials to install rooftop solar panels on all government buildings across the state, including schools, colleges, hospitals, offices and godowns, as part of a major push toward clean and green energy. The directive was issued during a high-level review meeting on power sector budget announcements held at the Civil Secretariat. Saini emphasised that the initiative is central to Haryana’s strategy to accelerate renewable energy adoption and reduce reliance on conventional sources. He instructed departments to fast-track installations under the PM Suryaghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which aims to promote household rooftop solar systems nationwide. Reviewing month-wise progress, he called for strict monitoring mechanisms and greater accountability to ensure timely implementation. Haryana aims to ensure 24,000 MW of power availability within seven years, securing 100 per cent supply for all consumers. Agniveers to get 20% quota in Haryana police: CM Nayab Singh Saini | Chandigarh News

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Sunday announced a 10% hike in reservation for Agniveers in state police jobs, taking the total reservation to 20%. Making the announcement, Saini said Haryana has become the first state to secure the future of Agniveers by reserving jobs for them after their service period. Chairing a review meeting on providing reservation in jobs to Agniveers, the CM said a separate portal would be created for Agniveers to register themselves. He said Agniveers who want to become self-employed will also be provided loans at affordable rates. Agniveers wanting to serve as private security personnel will be given priority in providing gun licences, the CM said. Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: The Haryana government on Sunday (February 2) declared a paid holiday in all public offices, academic institutions, boards and corporations on February 5 for the assembly election in Delhi. The holiday will allow employees of the state government who are registered voters of Delhi to exercise their franchise. “This provision, under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, and Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (amended in 1996), applies to employees who are registered voters of NCT of Delhi, allowing them to cast their vote in the general election,” according to an official statement. Employees of factories, shops and private establishments in Haryana who are registered voters of Delhi are also entitled to paid leaves for the purpose, it further said. Image Source : PTI Haryana Cabinet Days after the swearing-in of the new cabinet in the state, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, on Sunday (October 20), on the advice of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, allocated the much-awaited portfolios among the newly sworn-in council of 14 ministers. According to the Gazette notification released, two-time Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini retained 13 key portfolios, including Home, Finance, Planning, and Criminal Investigation. Anil Vij, who previously held the Home Department under the Manohar Lal Khattar government, has now been assigned the Labour Department, in addition to Energy and Transport. It is important to note that Saini, along with the council of ministers, formed the new cabinet under the BJP’s third regime in the state. In the latest assembly polls, the BJP won 48 out of 90 seats, while the Congress secured 37 seats. The remaining five seats were won by INLD (two) and Independent candidates (three).
