Rabb Da Radio 3 Box Office: Tarsem Jassar and Nimrat Khaira film collects Rs. 22 Cr worldwide in first week

Punjabi film Rabb Da Radio 3 has emerged as a HIT, with the film collecting Rs. 22 crore approx worldwide in its first week. Moreover, the trend is quite good, with the film seeing good growth over its opening weekend and then weekdays sustaining well. The domestic and overseas split for the Tarsem Jassar headlined threequel is Rs. 7.25 crore and Rs. 14.50 crore (USD 1.56 million) respectively.  The Punjabi film industry hasn’t had a great time at the box office lately, especially on the domestic side. There have been films that have done well overseas, some doing very well, but they either didn’t do well domestically or some of them didn’t even get a release, like Sardaar Ji 3 and Chal Mera Putt 4. Rabb Da Radio 3 has been a rare film which has done well in India, and it doesn’t hurt that overseas has contributed as well. There is still some work to do, but based on its trend and the fact that the film has an open run ahead with some …

Rabb Da Radio 3 Box Office: Tarsem Jassar, Nimrat Khaira starrer opens well in India, Posts Rs. 4 Cr plus day one worldwide

Punjabi film Rabb Da Radio 3 has taken a good start at the Indian box office, collecting Rs. 1.30 crore gross (Rs. 1.10 crore nett) approx on its opening day. Led by Tarsem Jassar, the third instalment in the franchise also performed well overseas, grossing around USD 325K (Rs. 3 crore) approx, taking its worldwide opening to Rs. 4.30 crore approx. It’s not as if Rs. 1 crore nett is a big number for a Punjabi film today; it used to be back in the mid 2010s, but lately Punjabi film box office is in tatters domestically, with the last film to have a Rs. 1 crore nett plus opening day being almost a year ago. In these circumstances, even this is to be seen in a more positive light than one would if everything were going well. There was a holiday for Good Friday yesterday. The holiday definitely helped in a big way overseas, though the boost in India needs to be seen. If it can grow today and then get the usual Sunday …

The third season of The Family Man has been released with the introduction of newer characters. Jaideep Ahlawat, Nimrat Kaur and more have joined the series. Opening up about her villainous role, Nimrat Kaur shared how she tried to focus on playing the self-assured character who operates ruthlessly in a male-dominated sphere. Speaking about the nitty gritties of playing such a role, she noted, “I think it’s fascinating that the writer’s room is all men. We are meeting a woman in a man’s world who is running a show like a man and is written by men. I find that fascinating and it is so empowering to take that position and then fly with it and then look at your own self. And many times I used to actually think about my own self and I used to be like – it would be kind of cool to be this self assured about so many situations which otherwise I would just you know be under a quilt about.” Nimrat acknowledged the gap between the character’s …

Nimrat Kaur says people are ‘unsettled’ in marriages that are a front; recalls family pressure to ‘settle down’ during her struggling days | Bollywood News

Being a celebrity doesn’t shield one from patriarchy or societal pressures — something Bollywood actor Nimrat Kaur experienced firsthand when she began her journey in the film industry. In a recent interaction, Nimrat admitted that her family didn’t take her acting career seriously until she starred opposite Irrfan Khan in The Lunchbox. She revealed that, until then, her family assumed she was merely having fun with her “hobby” and expected her to return home, get married, and “settle down” sooner or later. Speaking to News18, Nimrat said, “My work and I were taken seriously because there was Irrfan in the project. Prior to that, they said that shaadi ka time aa gaya hai (the time for marriage has come). Those marriage questions stopped after The Lunchbox. It took that film to convince them what I was capable of.” Nimrat recalled that during her struggling phase, when she was living “paycheck-to-paycheck,” no one in her family viewed her profession as a serious career. She said, “When I was six-seven years into the business, I was doing ad …

‘I was taken seriously because of Irrfan Khan’: Nimrat Kaur reveals how marriage questions stopped after The Lunchbox

Nimrat Kaur is comfortable being single, but that hasn’t stopped repeated questions about marriage. The inquiries started when she was in her late 20s. It was only after the success of her 2013 film, The Lunchbox, that the unsolicited remarks finally quieted down. In a recent interview, Kaur shared that, like many other women, she too often faced questions about marriage. However, it was only after The Lunchbox that she began to receive validation and recognition. She added that she was taken seriously largely because of Irrfan Khan. In a chat with Showsha, Nimrat Kaur explained that she did not want to blame those who questioned her, as her work and she were only taken seriously because Irrfan Khan was part of the project. Before The Lunchbox, she was often told that it was time for her to get married. However, questions about marriage stopped after the film’s success. Kaur said the movie helped convince people of her capabilities, and she finally earned their appreciation.  She also questioned the idea that marriage is the only way for women to …
