Crore-plus packages land at NITs and private colleges

Crore-plus packages land at NITs and private colleges

High-frequency trading (HFT) firms, global technology companies and venture-backed startups are expanding recruitment beyond the IITs to secure the top percentile of non-IIT institutions, often at pay levels comparable to IIT campuses. While IITs still dominate in volume and brand, recruiters say the gap at the very top of the talent pool is narrowing. That change is being driven by a tightening supply of high-calibre engineers, the rising premium on niche skills and a pragmatic reassessment of hiring risk and retention. With placements at older IITs beginning later in the year and competition for top candidates intensifying, employers are moving earlier and casting a wider net—targeting standout performers at NITs and select private universities before the market clears. “Two students from the batch of 2026 got crore offers exceeding ₹1 crore so far, while six students received a package over ₹70 lakh, and 34 students secured jobs with CTC exceeding ₹50 lakh,” highlighted P Venkata Suresh, head of the Centre for Career Planning and Development at NIT Warangal, one of the country’s oldest NIT. Samsung Display’s new QD-OLED TV panels can hit 2,000 nits of peak brightness

Although Samsung is yet to officially reveal its lineup of QD-OLED TVs for the year, its display division has just teased a couple of key specs: a maximum peak brightness of 2,000 nits, and an increase in power efficiency of up to 25 percent. 2,000 nits of peak brightness is around double what Samsung’s debut QD-OLED TV, the S95B, was able to put out last year. It also appears to be higher than the 1,800 nits that an LG spokesperson told FlatPanelsHD that its 2023 G3 model should be able to reach (although LG’s TV may go higher depending on exact picture settings).  Although peak brightness isn’t the be-all-and-end-all of picture quality, brighter screens tend to produce better HDR with more impact and vibrancy. And if they’re able to sustain this brightness over a large portion of the screen, it could also make Samsung’s new TVs more viable for use in bright rooms, where dimmer OLED models can suffer from excessive reflections and generally poor visibility. A peak brightness of 2,000 nits would put Samsung …

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Display Could Offer Up to 2,200 Nits Peak Brightness

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to be launched in February next year. The South Korean tech giant has not shared any information on the Galaxy S23 Ultra yet, but there have been a couple of leaks about the phone’s specifications. A new leak now suggests the display specifications of the upcoming flagship smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s AMOLED display is said to offer a peak brightness ranging from 2,100 to 2,200 nits. It could offer a 960Hz touch sampling rate as well. It looks like the Galaxy S23 Ultra may surpass the latest iPhone 14 Pro in terms of screen brightness. It could also have a Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) frequency below 2,000Hz. A Twitter user RGcloudS (@RGcloudS) has suggested the display specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to him, the upcoming handset will come with a bright E6 AMOLED LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) 3.0 display with a peak brightness of 2,200 nits. If this rumour holds any weight, the screen brightness of the Galaxy S23 Ultra could top iPhone 14 Pro’s 2,200 nits. …
