A suspected short circuit in a telecom junction box caused a brief fire and smoke at Pune Railway Station on Monday afternoon. The situation was quickly brought under control within minutes, with no injuries or damage reported, official said. Railway staff and the fire brigade responded swiftly to the incident, ensuring the situation was quickly contained. According to railway authorities, smoke was first noticed at around 3.50 pm from a junction box located above the Signalling and Telecommunication (S&T) Office on Platform No. 1. The smoke was caused by a suspected short circuit in the electrical system. Railway staff act quickly Before the fire brigade arrived, railway staff switched off the main power supply to the affected area and used fire extinguishers to contain the flames. The fire and smoke were completely extinguished by 3.55 pm, while the power supply to the affected section was isolated as a precaution. Over 20 people rescued after fire breaks out at EV showroom in Indore

Over 20 people from six families were rescued safely on Friday morning after a fire broke out at an Electric Vehicle (EV) showroom in Indore, trapping residents who lived on the upper floors of the mixed-use building.  Police and fire brigade teams, aided by neighbours, used ladders and ropes to bring them down. The incident occurred around 8 A.M. near Khalsa Chowk in the Lasudia area. The fire started in the EV showroom located on the ground floor of the apartment complex. Residents sleeping in flats above woke up when their rooms filled with smoke and they began experiencing breathing difficulties. With flames rising from below, the exit route was blocked and residents on the upper floors were unable to come down. Hearing screams, residents of a nearby multi-story building stepped forward to help. They arranged ladders and ropes and instructed those trapped to move to the roof.
