Bumrah trims the bails, Killer Miller gets going, Brevis’ no-look six & disbelief in stands as India drop the ball

5 min readUpdated: Feb 22, 2026 11:15 PM IST Disbelief, defeat, danger There was the sound of the air going out of a balloon at the Narendra Modi Stadium as the night wore on. That seemed to be the only sound at the venue where Pat Cummins once enjoyed silencing a big crowd. At the inning break, the target of 188 seemed well within reach, but maybe India had been lulled into a false sense of security in a relatively easy initial group. The margin of defeat – 76 runs – and the inevitability from a long way out was something the crowd found difficult to believe, judging by their facial expressions. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO It was India’s first defeat in an ICC event since the 2023 50-over World Cup, and the crowd would have been forgiven for being completely blindsided by what transpired on the evening, after the start that suggested it would be another routine win. The danger of a premature ouster is now very real. – Tushar Bhaduri Bumrah’s bail-trimmer Not one …

‘Rocket Raheja’, a no-look upper-cut specialist, teenage sensation… the names that could set SMAT on fire | Cricket News

Every year, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy throws up a fresh fairy tale—an unpolished diamond that dazzles under the domestic sun. The physics behind Hardik Pandya’s curved bat that enables his signature no-look sixes | Cricket News

The physics behind Hardik Pandya’s curved bat that enables his signature no-look sixes | Cricket News

There’s a nonchalance about Hardik Pandya when he hits his trademark no-look sixes; his timing, skill and power make it look easy. Aiding the star in clearing the rope is his bat with a curve in the front – a radical innovation that has been around for a while now but has largely gone unnoticed. The revolutionary ‘bat tweak’ originated in the 1990s when Sachin Tendulkar came up with a query for his bat manufacturer. He had noticed that his bats would develop a nice sweet spot – the wood would get compressed, giving the willow a ‘good dent’ – when used over a period of time. ‘Was it possible to have a readymade sweet spot?’ was Tendulkar’s question. And the answer was ‘yes’ and the bats were no longer flat as a chopping board. They were also convex. With time, the dent got deeper and broader and the process more scientific. Researchers would bank on the laws of physics, carve the bat keeping in mind the principles of the angle of incidence and reflection. …

Yashasvi Jaiswal pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Rashid Khan during Rajasthan Royal (RR)’s IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. With GT aiming to cross the 220-run mark at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Rashid attempted an audacious no-look flick off Tushar Deshpande in the penultimate over of the innings. However, he didn’t get the desired elevation. Jaiswal, who was stationed at backward square leg, leapt at full stretch to his right and grabbed the ball with both hands. The incident took place on the final ball of the 19th over and a video of the same has gone viral on social media. Hardik Pandya’s ‘No-Look Six’ To Slam Half-Century In 27 Balls vs England Goes Viral. Internet Says ‘India’s Greatest…’

Hardik Pandya‘s role in the Indian team is unlike anybody. The kind of balance that he brings to the side is something that no other player has been able to do in recent times. On Friday, Hardik Pandya’s breathtaking blows and comeback man Shivam Dube‘s belligerence took India to a par-score of 181 for 9 after the top-order failed to negotiate the short of length deliveries bowled by England pacers in the fourth T20 International in  on Friday. Coming in at No. 7, Pandya was stylish and destructive in equal measure hitting four boundaries and an equal number of maximums in his 30-ball-53. Towards the end, the six that Pandya hit off Jamie Overton to complete his half-century went viral. India vs Bangladesh: What Hardik Pandya’s nonchalant no-look shot says about the comeback man | Cricket News

When the cameras zoomed onto his face, Hardik Pandya’s jaws snapped the gum with a theatrical flourish. The stroke he had executed exemplified his nonchalant coolness – a ramp off a pacer over the wicketkeeper’s head, without even looking at the ball or its eventual destination. No-look shots have a mystical fondness in cricket, like the back-heel in football or the ‘tweener’ in tennis. A no-look ramp is even more electrifying. When a batsman has played the shot from right under the eye-line, with the ball almost kissing the chest, their eyes would reflexively travel with the ball, till it reaches its eventual destination. But Hardik rebelled against human nature and reflexes. He watched the ball until it climbed onto his torso. He arched his upper body to manufacture space for his hands to help the ball beyond the ‘keeper’s reach, like he was playfully slapping a friend at a reunion. Insane no look shot by Hardik Pandya. Oct 07, 2024 06:14 AM IST Hardik Pandya once again proved his worth as an allrounder in T20 cricket by chipping in with a wicket and scoring an unbeaten quickfire of 39 off 16 balls. No-look ramp shot if not played earlier then Hardik Pandya can get a patent done for it as the allrounder played it with so much swagger off a Taskin Ahmed delivery in the first T20 International of the three-match series against Bangladesh on Sunday. Hardik Pandya plays the no-look ramp shot off Taskin Ahmed in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior. Pandya was in a hurry to wrap up the match as soon as he took guard to face the first ball with India chasing a small target of 128. With India on 116 for 3 and 12 runs away from victory, Pandya decided to take on Taskin in the 12th over and on the third ball of the over the bowler digs in a short ball angling into the body. Pandya at the last moment plays a no-look …
