The Belagavi-based IT company has claimed that it has right of prior usage as it was registered before the US firm. “Due to this, we have suffered marketplace confusion and reputational impact due to the similarity in branding,” Mohammad Ayyaz Mulla, founder, Anthropic STC said. “We have submitted all relevant documents to the commercial court in Belagavi. Our firm was registered in Indian registry office much before the US firm was registered in the USA or in India. The US firm has been using our trademark and passing it off as its own. The Supreme Court on Monday directed the special investigation team (SIT), constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, to submit a status report on the investigation into the alleged embezzlement of donations received at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, while indicating that it may consider issuing further directions after examining the progress of the probe. The Supreme Court asked the state government to disclose the names of the officials comprising the SIT. The government has issued a stern notice to Meta on Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM) in paid advertisements on Instagram, sources said on Sunday. The government issued the notice on Saturday evening, they added. “MeitY [Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology] has ordered Instagram to disable all ads and content promoting and facilitating access to CSEAM,” the sources said. The development came a day after IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw directed MeitY officials to summon Meta over Instagram ads allegedly promoting child sexual abuse material.
