Anurag Kashyap criticises preference for Obsession over Indian releases
Anurag Kashyap has once again spoken out about the challenges faced by Indian films at the box office. The filmmaker expressed disappointment over the limited number of shows allotted to several domestic releases, claiming Hollywood horror hit Obsession continues to dominate screens at the expense of Indian movies. He highlighted the struggles faced by films such as Bandar, Main Vaapas Aaunga, Governor, and Sing Gheetham. Anurag Kashyap expresses disappointment In a strongly worded Instagram Story, Kashyap shared his thoughts on the show allocations for his own directorial Bandar, Vedang Raina and Sharvari’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, Manoj Bajpayee’s Governor, and the Telugu film Sing Gheetham. He wrote, “I totally understand that everyone wants to see Obsession, but it can still run longer with fewer shows. If we don’t prioritise our own films with better showcasing, then I don’t understand how we will grow.” Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here.
