Kishan Reddy on Sunday (May 17, 2026), asserted that the names of Rohingya or Bangladeshi nationals must be removed from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise initiated by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in Telangana. “I state this categorically: if the name of any individual who is not an Indian citizen appears on the voter list, authorities must verify and remove it,” he said and stated the BJP’s Booth Level Agents (BLAs) would fully cooperate with election officials in the process, hence other parties too should follow suit. Addressing a press conference at the party’s State office, Mr. Reddy said no attempts to obstruct the EC’s work would be tolerated and also cautioned against any effort to intimidate government officials. “My appeal to citizens is to participate in the SIR and extend full cooperation,” he said. He noted that BLAs have the authority to raise objections if ineligible names are not …

Supreme Court slams Mamata Banerjee over ED raid obstruction, says ‘democracy in jeopardy’| India News

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had put “the whole democracy in jeopardy” by allegedly obstructing search operations carried out by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at the Kolkata offices of political consultancy firm I-PAC and the residence of its director Pratik Jain earlier this year. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. (@AITCofficial) In strong remarks a day ahead of the first phase of West Bengal polls, a bench of justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and NV Anjaria made it clear that the controversy went beyond a routine Centre-state dispute, framing it instead as an instance of individual conduct by a constitutional functionary with far-reaching implications. “This is not a dispute between the State and the Union. A chief minister of any state cannot walk in the midst of an investigation, put the democracy in peril…This is per se an act committed by an individual who happens to be the Chief Minister keeping the whole democracy in jeopardy,” the bench observed. The court added that even constitutional thinkers such as …

Pat Cummins Withdraws Run Out Appeal vs Ravindra Jadeja For Field Obstruction. Sparks Massive Debate. Watch

Chennai Super Kings batters found the going tough against SunRisers Hyderabad as they could score only 165/5 in 20 overs against SunRisers Hyderabad. In-form Shivam Dube top-scored with a 24-ball 45 while veteran Ajinkya Rahane contributed a sedate 35 off 30 balls after CSK were asked to bat on a pitch that didn’t seem like a proverbial belter. The duo’s 65-run partnership for the third wicket from just 6.3 overs was the only highlight of the CSK innings. CSK added only 37 runs in the last five overs and that could be the turning point in the match. But credit must be given to CSK’s all-season’s man Ravindra Jadeja, whose unbeaten 31 off 23 balls was the added fillip that the defending champions needed at the end. There was a point in the innings in the 19th over as Jadeja got in the way of Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s throw at the stumps. SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen also looked like signalling that he might be obstructing the field. But SRH skipper Pat Cummins  withdrew the appeal. Obstructing or …
