India, Israel Reaffirm Zero Tolerance For Terror At Key Meet; Condemn Pahalgam, Oct 7 Attacks | World News

(Image: AP/File) India and Israel on Tuesday reaffirmed their shared commitment to zero tolerance for terrorism at the 10th meeting of the India-Israel Joint Working Group (JWG) on Counter Terrorism held in New Delhi. Both sides strongly condemned the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel. The meeting was led by Dr Vinod Bahade, Joint Secretary (Counter Terrorism) in the Ministry of External Affairs, and Nadav Eschar, Head of Bureau, Strategic Affairs Division in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the MEA, the two countries “unequivocally and strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism” and stressed the urgent need to hold perpetrators accountable. The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) Chairman GS Martolia announced that the examination for technical positions in the Agriculture Department, originally set for October 12, has been postponed. He stated that admit cards had not yet been issued for the exam, and it will no longer take place on the scheduled date. Tamil Nadu to finally conduct ‘entry level’ RTE admissions for 2025-26 academic session from Oct 6: Report

Tamil Nadu government is set to conduct Right to Education (RTE) admissions for the current academic year from October 6 to October 17, according to Times of India report. This comes days after Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav transferred ₹489 crore to 20,652 private schools as fee reimbursement for 8.45 lakh students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009. As per the report, RTE admissions will be conducted through an online portal. With priority being offered to orphans, HIV-affected children, transgender children, children of scavengers and differently-abled children, 25% RTE seats will be identified. Over 6,000 private schools will upload their total seats filled in entry-level classes. Tamil Nadu state government had refused to follow the three-language policy in PM Shri schools following which the Union government withheld ₹2151 crore grant under the Samagra Shiksha scheme. This figure includes the reimbursement for RTE admissions for the previous academic session. The government also told the Upper House that there were 21,928 Indian students before the start of the conflict in Ukraine, but as of November 01, 2024, only 1,802 students were enrolled in various Ukrainian universities.
