Matt Damon calls Nolan’s The Odyssey ‘hardest film I’ve ever made’, reveals there is ‘no green screen, no faking’

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Matt Damon, who plays the lead in the film, has now described his experience of working on it as the ‘hardest’ in his career. Matt Damon and Zendaya in The Odyssey. Matt Damon talks about The Odyssey The Odyssey is an adaptation of Homer’s epic poem that chronicles the journey of Odysseus, the fabled king of Ithaca, back home after the Trojan War. Matt Damon, who plays Odysseus, recently took a break from the film to spend time with rescue dogs at the Eastwood Ranch Foundation’s Animal Rescue and Adoption Facility in Los Angeles. The Oscar-winning actor spoke about the project during an interview at the California Adopt-A-Pet Day event on June 6. “It was by far the hardest movie I’ve ever made. Chris likes to shoot everything real. So there’s no kind of green screen, no faking it, no kind of studio stuff,” he said. Christopher Nolan, the film’s director, is known to use practical effects for most of his …

The Odyssey: Matt Damon Transforms into Odysseus For Christopher Nolan’s Reimagining of The Greek Epic; SEE Here

Matt Damon turns Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s new Greek epic retelling! After a brief cameo in Interstellar and a prominent supporting role in the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer, Damon has finally earned a lead role in a Nolan-helmed epic. But did you ever imagine the British filmmaker, known for creating thought-provoking masterpieces, reimagining Greek mythology? This is definitely a first! The Martian actor will star as Odysseus, the titular hero of Homer’s epic poem and the Greek king of Ithaca. Universal Pictures unveiled the first look at Damon dressed in period attire. In the image, the Good Will Hunting actor is seen wearing ancient Greek clothing while posing with his back to the camera. “Matt Damon is Odysseus. A film by Christopher Nolan, #TheOdysseyMovie is in theaters July 17, 2026,” the caption read. Before the official announcement, there was widespread speculation among netizens about who would play the tragic Greek hero. Most debated that it would be Tom Holland, while others bet against it. Netizens quickly filled the comment section with their thoughts on the casting. “Everyone …

Odysseus moon lander still operational, in final hours before battery dies | World News

Odysseus, the first U.S. spacecraft to land on the moon since 1972, neared the end of its fifth day on the lunar surface still operational, but with its battery in its final hours before the vehicle is expected to go dark, according to flight controllers. Texas-based Intuitive Machines said in an online update on Tuesday that its control center in Houston remained in contact with the lander as it “efficiently sent payload science data and imagery in furtherance of the company’s mission objectives.” The spacecraft reached the lunar surface last Thursday after an 11th-hour navigational glitch and white-knuckle descent that ended with Odysseus landing in a sideways or sharply tilted position that has impeded its communications and solar-charging capability. Intuitive Machines said the next day that human error was to blame for the navigational issue. Flight readiness teams had neglected to manually unlock a safety switch before launch, preventing subsequent activation of the vehicle’s laser-guided range finders and forcing flight engineers to hurriedly improvise an alternative during lunar orbit. An Intuitive executive told Reuters on …

The Odysseus lunar lander is on its side and will likely run out of energy soon

The Odysseus lander is likely to remain operating for another 24 hours on the Moon’s surface, despite being tipped over onto its side. Intuitive Machines, the private space company behind Odysseus, tweeted a few images taken by the spacecraft and gave more updates on how long the team expects it will remain operational. Because of Odysseus’ landing position, the panels and antennas aren’t oriented exactly as planned, making it harder for it to generate power and communicate. Controllers on Earth will continue to collect data until its solar panels are no longer exposed to sunlight, which they anticipate will happen on Tuesday morning. The landing almost didn’t happen at all. During a press conference Friday, executives explained the safety switches for the lander’s two range finder lasers were enabled, meaning they couldn’t be used to guide the craft during its landing, The New York Times reports. Luckily, there was an experimental lidar system by NASA on board the spacecraft. Engineers working for Intuitive Machines scrambled last minute and designed a software patch to retrieve the …

Watch Odysseus attempt the first US Moon landing since 1972 at 6:24PM ET

Intuitive Machines has just made history by becoming the first private aerospace company to land a spacecraft on the Moon’s surface. Following its launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket last Thursday, the robotic Nova-C “Odysseus” lander built by Intuitive Machines has now touched down — also making it the first US spacecraft to successfully land on the Moon since the 1972 Apollo 17 mission. Described by NASA as a “hexagonal cylinder” on six legs, the Nova-C Odysseus lander is carrying several science and research payloads for the agency’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program, which aims to collect important data about the Moon’s surface. It aimed for the lunar south pole, a region of particular scientific interest due to the occurrence of water ice hiding in permanently shadowed craters. Such data could prove useful before NASA’s Artemis program brings people back to the Moon in 2025. It has a laser retroreflector array to help other spacecraft make precision landings and a radio navigation beacon to provide geolocation data to landers, rovers, and eventually astronauts.  …

Intuitive Machines’ Odysseus Moon landing: Touch down time, how to watch

All set to make history as the first private lunar lander, Intuitive Machines‘ Odysseus spacecraft is slated to land on the Moon safely on Thursday, February 22. After a 50-year leap, NASA has hopeful plans to make it to the Moon again.
