SC grants bail to ex-AAP office-bearer Vijay Nair, lodged in Tihar for 23 months, in Delhi excise policy case – India TV

Image Source : PTI Former AAP media in-charge Vijay Nair The Supreme Court on Monday (September 2) granted bail to ex-AAP office-bearer Vijay Nair, an accused in the Delhi Excise Policy case filed by the ED. The top court cited Manish Sisodia case as a reference while granting bail to the former AAP office bearer. He has been in Tihar Jail for 23 months. As an undertrial, he could not be kept in jail for an extended period. Natural justice dictates that imprisonment is an exception, and bail is the rule. Former AAP media in-charge and accused Vijay Nair received significant relief from the Supreme Court which granted bail to Vijay Nair in the ED case. Nair was already out on bail in the CBI case. After getting bail in the ED case, Nair will walk out of the jail. The Supreme Court used the bail granted to K. Kavitha and Manish Sisodia as a basis for this decision. Congress media department office-bearer Radhika Khera resigns from party, cites opposition to Ram temple visit | India News

The Congress’ media department national coordinator Radhika Khera resigned from the party’s primary membership on Sunday, days after her altercation with another leader at the party’s Chhattisgarh state unit office. In her resignation letter to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Khera also claimed that she was facing opposition in the party for her visit to the Ram temple in Ayodhya. “It is an established truth since ancient times that those who support religion have been opposed. Examples of this range from Hiranyakashipu to Ravana and Kansa. At present, some people are opposing those who take the name of Lord Shri Ram,” Khera said in her letter. “For every Hindu, the birthplace of Lord Ram holds great significance with its sanctity … while every Hindu considers his life successful just by seeing Ram Lalla, some people are opposing it,” she said, without taking any names.
