He-Man and the Masters of the Universe review: Nicholas Galitzine shines in old-school campy and fun superhero adventure

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe review: Nicholas Galitzine shines in old-school campy and fun superhero adventure

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Director: Travis Knight Cast: Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, and Idris Elba Rating: ★★★⯪ Social media is a curious beast. Over the years, it has revived several beaten-down IPs and franchises from the past, transforming them into ‘cult classics’ through the magic of memes and chat forums. Masters of the Universe is one such franchise. Skeletor memes and dancing He-Man GIFs began a resurgence of interest in the universe, and the reboot dutifully followed. And, as a few other franchises have done of late, Masters of the Universe plays up the fun, playful, campy side of its predecessors, providing entertainment by being unserious yet not frivolous. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe review: Nicholas Galitzine stars as the titular character. The premise Prince Adam of Eternia must flee his utopian kingdom after the evil warlock Skeletor overthrows his father, the king, and seizes control of Eternia. Entrusted with the magical Power Sword, he escaped through a portal to Earth. But …

Gustaakh Ishq X Reviews: Netizens enjoy the old-school romance, but Vijay Varma’s ‘lover-boy energy’ steals the show

Gustaakh Ishq X Reviews: Netizens enjoy the old-school romance, but Vijay Varma’s ‘lover-boy energy’ steals the show

Manish Malhotra’s much-awaited Gustaakh Ishq has finally dropped in theatres today. Set in 1998, the film follows the story of Nawabuddin (played by Vijay Varma), a struggling printer who travels to Malerkotla to meet the reclusive poet Aziz Beg (Naseeruddin Shah). His mission is to convince Aziz to publish his work — but life takes an unexpected turn when he falls in love with Aziz’s daughter, Minni (played by Fatima Sana Shaikh). Vijay Varma in Gustaakh Ishq What begins as admiration soon turns into a tale of longing, heartbreak, and redemption. As Nawabuddin battles to save his father’s printing press, his love story with Minni becomes entangled in miscommunication and sacrifice. The slow cinematography and poetic writing, combined with Vishal Bhardwaj’s music, might just appeal to a generation tired of quick cuts and surface-level dialogues. So, what’s the verdict? Netizens react to Gustaakh Ishq Though critics on multiple platforms have given mixed reviews, audience reactions on social media are positive. One viewer wrote on X, “Watched Gustaakh Ishq rn and #VijayVarma was criminally charming today… …

I Expected Dreamy Old-School Romance Ft. Vijay Verma & Fatima Sana Shaikh But This Messy Heartbreak Is Underwhelming!

I Expected Dreamy Old-School Romance Ft. Vijay Verma & Fatima Sana Shaikh But This Messy Heartbreak Is Underwhelming!

Gustaakh Ishq Trailer Review: This Messy Heartbreak Is Underwhelming! ( Photo Credit – YouTube ) Many years ago, Vishal Bhardwaj created a delusional world in just one song from Saat Khoon Maaf. It starred Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan, and the song was Beqaraan! Years later, when we were first teased with the teaser of Gustaakh Ishq featuring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Vijay Verma, it felt like the same magic. But the spell broke as soon as the trailer arrived! Helmed by Vibhu Puri and produced by Manish Malhotra, the trailer of the film arrived, and it does not promise to be the old-school love that was being hinted at. At least, the trailer does not justify the ishq part! In fact, the better chemistry in this trailer belongs to Vijay Verma and Naseeruddin Shah! For me, the trailer of Gustaakh Ishq does not work! Blame it on my over-excitement but I was expecting something exceptional when a teaser doesn’t just show you plot points, but sings to you. After a phenomenal first look at Gustaakh Ishq, …

Spring of Youth first impression: A K-drama that badly needs Netflixification to rescue its fresh faces, old-school charm, and Byeon Woo Seok vibe | Web-series News

Spring of Youth first impression: A K-drama that badly needs Netflixification to rescue its fresh faces, old-school charm, and Byeon Woo Seok vibe | Web-series News

The rise of Netflix K-content has been both a blessing and a curse for the K-drama industry, which now finds itself struggling to make shows work on domestic platforms. The latest to take the hit is the Han You Joon, Park Ji Hu, and Lee Seung Hyub-starrer Spring of Youth, a romantic comedy clinging to the old-school formula: idol-fan fantasy, cookie-cutter storyline, obligatory aegyo moments, and a facecard that never declines. The show ended up receiving a poor rating, two episodes in. May is usually the golden month for K-dramas, we’ve seen legends like Youth of May, the kind of show that leaves you with K-trauma and guilt-binging for years. But, this year’s lineup Resident Playbook, Spring of Youth, all noise, no punch. If you’re into the slow-burn campus fluff with an episode 12 hand-hold and a maybe-kiss in episode 13, this one is for you. But if you’re more Squid Game and The Glory type, SKIP. Spring of Youth: K-drama struggles Trying to recreate the magic of Byeon Woo Seok’s Lovely Runner, which kicked …
