Social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is famously known as the ‘PadMan,’ claimed that he has been listed as a nominee for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Arunachalam Muruganantham created and patented a machine which could manufacture low cost sanitary pads for less than a third of the cost of commercial pads. It has to be a third party… A Dean from Aravind Eye Hospital of Pondicherry and American teams working there submitted my name for the Nobel… It was accepted within 24 hours… I’m really proud…”, Muruganantham told news agency ANI on Sunday. Actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna`s book `The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad` contained four stories, one of which was named `The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land`. The author would have had put an end to the story when Padman Arunachalam Muruganantham mistook her for actor Raveena Tandon, if it was not her `greed` for telling a good story.  Khanna based `The Sanitary Man of Sacred Land`, one of the four stories in the book, on Tamil Nadu-based Muruganantham, who created affordable sanitary napkins for the women of his village. According to Khanna, the activist mistook her as Tandon while giving his nod to write the story. “He looked at me and mistook me for Raveena Tandon.
