A veena concert titled ‘Veenanadha Neerajana – Veenavani’ marked the Vasant Panchami celebrations at the famous Gnana Saraswati temple in Basar of Nirmal district on Friday evening. Artistes played 108 veenas with perfect synchrony, leaving the audience spellbound at Aksharabyasa Mandapam at the temple complex late in the evening. The amazing performance by the students and teachers of the Tyagaraja Music College and the Bhakta Ramadasu Music College evoked loud applause from the audience. The Supreme Court has allowed Hindu prayers from sunrise to sunset on Basant Panchami on Friday at the disputed Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque in Madhya Pradesh`s Dhar district, while permitting Muslims to offer namaz from 1 pm to 3 pm on the day. The top court on Thursday also directed that a list of persons from the Muslim community coming for namaz be given to the district administration.Hindu and Muslim groups have sought nod for religious activities at the Bhojshala complex on January 23, a Friday when Saraswati Puja will also be held on the occasion of Basant Panchami. A sea of devotees took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam in Uttar Pradesh`s Prayagraj on the occasion of Basant Panchami, peacefully concluding the third `Amrit Snan` of the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. Tight security measures were in place, ensuring a safe and orderly experience for all. As per officials, more than 12.5 million devotees took a holy dip on the third and last Shahi Snan of Maha Kumbh as of noon on Monday. According to an official release, to ensure a smooth and secure bathing experience for devotees, saints, mahatmas, and Kalpvasis, an extensive police and security arrangement was put in place across the Maha Kumbh fair area. Mahakumbh Nagar: The third ‘Amrit Snan’ at the Maha Kumbh proceeded smoothly on Monday with lakhs of people taking a dip on the occasion of Basant Panchmi and akharas resuming the grand processions curtailed last week when a stampede killed at least 30 people. By 4 pm, an estimated two crore devotees had taken the ritual dip at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati, according to figures shared by the Uttar Pradesh government. After the stampede that broke out at the Sangam on ‘Mauni Amavasya’ (January 29), the state government mounted up safety measures with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directing officials to adopt a ‘zero-error’ approach.
