Sources said the poll schedule can be announced any time after the West Bengal visit. The Commission has already visited poll-bound Tamil Nadu, Assam, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. During the visit, the full Commission, led by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, will hold meetings with registered political parties in the States as well as with the heads/nodal officers of enforcement agencies, Inspectors General, Deputy Inspectors General, District Electoral Officers, and Superintendents of Police among others on election planning, EVM management, logistics, training of election staff, seizures, law and order, voter awareness and outreach activities. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday directed officials to install rooftop solar panels on all government buildings across the state, including schools, colleges, hospitals, offices and godowns, as part of a major push toward clean and green energy. The directive was issued during a high-level review meeting on power sector budget announcements held at the Civil Secretariat. Saini emphasised that the initiative is central to Haryana’s strategy to accelerate renewable energy adoption and reduce reliance on conventional sources. He instructed departments to fast-track installations under the PM Suryaghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which aims to promote household rooftop solar systems nationwide. Reviewing month-wise progress, he called for strict monitoring mechanisms and greater accountability to ensure timely implementation. Haryana aims to ensure 24,000 MW of power availability within seven years, securing 100 per cent supply for all consumers. He claimed that it would be the first time a report from a commission formed by non-government agencies would be tabled in the Assembly, when it meets for a five-day session starting on Tuesday (November 25, 2025). Addressing a press conference after chairing a meeting of the council of ministers on Sunday (November 23, 2025), Mr. Sarma said, “The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has said that the report of the Justice (Retd.) Moorthy The Tamil Nadu government has constituted two committees — a high-level expert committee, headed by School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, and a curriculum design committee — to revamp the State’s school curriculum. According to a government order (G.O.) issued by the School Education Department, the curriculum design committee will be headed by State Planning Commission member Sultan Ahmed Ismail, who is the former Head of the Department of Zoology, The New College. “The committee will develop a new curriculum design based on the Tamil Nadu State Education Policy, 2025, to ensure the overall development of children, in line with the sociocultural and linguistic diversity to provide students with an opportunity to learn,” the order stated. It will seek the educational views from all stakeholders and formulate recommendations for a new curriculum design. Srinivasan The Tamil Nadu government, through a series of notifications dated May 13, 2025, has extended the time limit for the search committees to chose Vice-Chancellors to four State universities to August 13, 2025. It has also made amendments to the original notifications for the search committees, omitting the provisions where the committees submit their recommendations to the Governor-Chancellor. Instead, the search committees for Anna University, Madurai Kamaraj University, Annamalai University, and Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Education University will submit their recommendations directly to the government. Also, in the notifications for the search committees of Anna University and Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Education University, the expression “Chancellor’s Nominee/Convenor” has been amended to read as “Chancellor’s Nominee/Member”. New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued a new hearing date for ‘India’s Got Latent’ Youtubers including Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina after they failed to appear in response to its summons regarding crass remarks made on their show. The women’s panel had summoned Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Poojari, Saurabh Bothra and Balraj Ghai, to appear before it today at noon. However, all the creators failed to appear before the panel citing concerns over personal safety, prior travel commitments, and other logistical challenges. Ranveer Allahbadia, citing death threats had requested the commission to postpone the hearing for three weeks. He has now been summoned before the panel on March 6. Similarly, Apoorva Mukhija had expressed safety concerns and requested the panel to appear virtually. However, the panel denied her request and issued a fresh date of March 6 to appear before it.
