Iconic Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas passes away at the age of 72. Pankaj Udhas passed away at the age of 72 after battling a prolonged illness. Pankaj Udhas, a name synonymous with the resurgence of ghazal in modern Indian music passed away on February 26, at the age of 72. The Ghazal singer had captivated the hearts of millions around the globe with his soulful voice and profound expressions. His demise came as a shock for the entire nation as several singers and musicians like Sonu Nigam, Anup Jalota extended their condolences. Pankaj Udhas’s funeral will take place on February 27. Pankaj Udhas’s family have informed through a circular that the Ghazal maestro’s last rites will be held at Hindu crematorium in Mumbai. It read, “In loving memory of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas. With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of his demise on the 26th of February 2004 due to prolonged illness.
