The Karnataka High Court on Thursday disposed of a petition filed by the convenor of RSS in Kalaburagi(HT_PRINT) The court permitted the march on November 16 with 300 participants and a 50 member band. Justice MGS Kamal recorded that the Tahsildar of Chittapur had already granted permission for the event scheduled on November 16, subject to specific conditions. Last week, the State had informed the court that it would positively consider the petitioner’s proposal for the march. In June, the Centre floated a tender for 10,900 e-buses for five cities, which include Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Surat, and Ahmedabad. This is part of the umbrella PM E drive scheme worth ₹10,900 crore to promote adoption of electric vehicles that also includes electric two wheelers, three wheelers, ambulance, trucks and charging infrastructure. The deadline for submission of bids has already been extended twice, with the latest deadline set to expire on November 6. The Centre expects Adani Group, the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund in which the government owns 49% stake, and a Canadian pension fund to show interest. Tokyo Olympics champion Neeraj Chopra confirmed on Monday that the invitiational javelin event being organised in India under his name – the NC Classic – has been shifted to Bengaluru from Panchukula. The NC Classic, originally scheduled to be held at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium on May 24, will now be held on the same day at Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium, Bengaluru – the change has been confirmed on the World Athletics event calendar as well. The 26th edition will feature 80 contests and 130 stalls, including those set up by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Navy, and the Army, said V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT-M. On the first two days, the institute will host an open house, for which over 55,000 participants have registered, Mr. Kamakoti told mediapersons here on Monday. The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) is collaborating with the institute for this year’s festival.
