Delhi Police along with paramilitary forces on Friday took out flag marches in some sensitive areas of the city, including Jamia Nagar and the Jamia Millia Islamia, to ensure that law and order is not disturbed in the wake of the passage of the contentious Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, in Parliament, officials said. Police also deployed drones to monitor several sensitive locations, they said. “Senior police officers had already chalked out a robust security plan for the city to ensure that law and order is not disturbed. ACPs along with SHOs have been asked to remain alert and be in touch with their sources,” a senior police officer said. Passengers aboard Quark Expeditions’ Ocean Explorer must have had the worst nightmare of their lives after massive waves hit the cruise ship while passing through the notorious Drake Passage. The ship, making its way between Argentina and Antarctica, was battered by towering waves in March. Footage filmed by passenger Lesley Anne Murphy shows the chaos onboard, with guests being violently tossed against walls and sliding across the floor as the vessel fought the powerful ocean. Murphy estimated that some waves reached heights of 30 to 40 feet. The viral footage shows passengers dwarfed by massive waves crashing against the ship. At times, the waves were so powerful that they completely blocked out the windows. The turbulent conditions persisted for two full days. Sharing her adventure on Instagram, Murphy described the rough ride, or “Drake shake,” as coming in two intense bursts during the voyage.
