Indian paddlers had mixed results from the qualifying round of WTT Contender Muscat 2026, as only Manush Shah and Ayhika Mukherjee advanced to the main draw on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Payas Jain, Diya Chitale, and Yashaswini Ghorpade bowed out in the final qualifying round of their respective categories. Qualifying top seed Manush defeated France’s Esteban Dorr in straight games in the final qualifying round, whereas Ayhika got the better of China’s Zhu Ziyu. Manush will join Manav Thakkar and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in the men’s singles main round, while Ayhika will join Manika Batra in the women’s singles main draw. Manush Shah, Ryu Hanna clinch singles titles at WTT Feeder Vadodara

Top seed and home favourite Manush Shah and the Korea Republic’s Ryu Hanna emerged as the men’s and women’s singles champions respectively at the WTT Feeder Series 2026 in Vadodara on Sunday. The tournament, presented by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, was held at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex and marked the city’s first-ever WTT Feeder event. Manush produced a strong comeback in the men’s singles final to overcome Payas Jain in a five-game thriller. After dropping the first two games, the Indian paddler regrouped to claim the title with a 7-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6, 11-8 victory, showcasing composure and consistency under pressure. The women’s singles final, in contrast, was a one-sided affair. Divyanshi Bhowmick wins U15 singles bronze at ITTF Youth Worlds

Divyanshi Bhowmick produced one of India’s most significant results in youth table tennis by winning the bronze medal in the U15 girls’ singles at the ITTF Youth World Table Tennis Championships in Cluj-Napoca. The 14-year-old also secured her second medal of the competition, following the U15 girls’ team bronze earlier in the tournament. With this result, Divyanshi becomes only the third Indian ever to win a singles medal at the Youth World Championships, joining Payas Jain (2021) and Suhana Saini (2021). Divyanshi started strongly in the round of 32, defeating Ireland’s Jade Morice. In the round of 16, she overcame South Korea’s Kim Minseo 4–2. Her quarterfinal win over Japan’s Kokomi Ishida was the standout result of her campaign. Divyanshi prevailed 4–2 (11–9, 13–11, 10–12, 11–9, 11–7).
