Ukraine marked the third anniversary of its conflict with Russia on Feb. 24 by hosting a summit for a slew of European and world leaders. Meanwhile, The United Nations General Assembly voted on Feb. 24 to reaffirm Ukraine’s territorial integrity, adopting a strongly worded resolution condemning Russia’s invasion. The resolution reaffirmed the Assembly’s “commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine.” The resolution won 93 votes in favor as Washington sided with Moscow to join 16 others voting against. In a win for Ukraine, the US failed to get the UNGA to approve a rival resolution seeking to end the war without mentioning Russian aggression.
