Gulshan Devaiah on dating ex-wife after divorce, turning down Yash’s Toxic, and why he quit a film: ‘They didn’t pay me, behaved badly’ | Bollywood News

Gulshan Devaiah is returning to familiar turf, but still making it count like a fresh start. Having been raised in Bengaluru, he started his acting career as Chittiappa Gowda, a Kannada-speaking character in Anurag Kashyap’s 2010 thriller That Girl in Yellow Boots. Fifteen years later, he played his next Kannada-speaking part in one of the biggest Kannada films ever — Rishab Shetty’s period epic fantasy Kantara: Chapter 1 last year. Even on a personal front, it’s an unexpected homecoming for Gulshan. He parted ways with wife and fellow actor Kallirroi Tziafetta in 2020 after a marriage of eight years. But as fate would have it, the two got back together in 2024 and are currently dating. On the latest edition of SCREEN Spotlight, Gulshan talks about how he landed Kantara: Chapter 1, why he had to turn down Geethu Mohandas’ Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, why his actual reason for doing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela (2013) never materialized, and the trend of lead actor playing bad guys in films like Animal …

They also shared that since men have traditionally been the breadwinners, women shouldn’t shy away from taking responsibility at home. Seema Pahwa shared her perspective on how traditional roles were formed and why women often shoulder domestic responsibilities. She told Digital Commentary, “When the work was divided between men and women, that men will go out to work and women will stay at home, the reason behind this must have been a woman’s nature, a woman is very soft by nature, and she is a mother since birth. For her to take responsibility of the home comes automatically.” Reflecting on her own life after marriage, Seema said she took over household duties such as cooking, preparing the children for school, and caring for her in-laws. “I didn’t revolt against the same,” she expressed. She added, “I thought I had …

In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, real-life actor couple Manoj Pahwa and Seema Pahwa, and Neha Dhupia discuss the show, their changing views on therapy, and belonging to a family of actors. Neha: Saying it’s an oxymoron is taking it too far. But a perfect family definitely exists on Instagram, no matter how much kalesh has gone into even taking that ‘perfect’ photo. It’s usually a taboo but whenever I discuss my family issues with my friends, and that one odd person turns around and says, ‘Mere ghar mein bhi aisa hi hota hai (This also happens at my home),’ I don’t know why but that’s very reassuring.” Seema: Every family tries to be perfect, but I think you can put a percentage to it. Are we 40%, 60% or 80% perfect as a family? Because 100% is not possible. Neha: It also depends on what perfection means …

Perfect Family review: The Karkarias of Delhi are a family who, like all of us, are desperate to project that everything is perfect. Somanth Karkaria (Manoj Pahwa) owns a mithaai-ki-dukaan which is struggling to stay afloat in a time when people are cutting on sugar, and veering towards videshi sweets. A paterfamilias in the old mould, he carries a comfortable paunch, and a sneering attitude of daddy-knows-best whether it comes to his own wife Kamla (Seema Pahwa), son Vishnu (Gulshan Devaiah), daughter Pooja (Kaveri Seth), daughter-in-law Neeti (Girija Oak Godbole) and their two grandchildren, Daani and Daksh. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO When Daani (Hirva Trivedi) is hauled up for acting out in school, and the threat of expulsion from an expensive institution, the Karkarias find themselves arrayed in front of a psychiatrist (Neha Dhupia), who becomes their gateway into understanding who they really are, or at least begin their journey on that path, which can be very hard indeed. ‘Yeh saari cheezein bahut gehri jagah se aati hain’, says the psychiatrist, and the family reacts …
