Speaking to Geo News, Malik said the government would “bring good news regarding a reduction in petroleum prices” after the two countries agreed on a framework to end hostilities. He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had previously assured the public that any fall in global oil prices would be passed on to consumers. The US and Iran have agreed to a peace deal, which they plan to formalise by Friday, June 19, 2026. Both countries have committed to concluding a final agreement upon signing a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding. The doubling of quantum would be premised on average daily supply, that is, the number of cylinders being disbursed on a day-by-day basis, between March 2 and March 3, and would be extending beyond the 20% limit as was mandated in an earlier order. “It is conveyed that the daily quantity of 5kg FTL cylinder in each State available for disbursal to migrant labourers is being doubled based on average daily supply (that is, number of cylinders) to migrant labourers during March 2-3 beyond limit of 20% mentioned [in the March 21 order],” read the communication from the Secretary at the Union …

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on Friday said the supply of petroleum products and LPG was stable and adequate to meet the current demand in Punjab. The stock position at LPG bottling plants is comfortable, with inventory levels adequate in line with norms in the past and replenishments also planned, said Indian Oil Corporation Limited executive director and state level coordinator of Punjab Ashutosh Gupta. (Hindustan Times) In a press statement, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) executive director and state level coordinator of Punjab Ashutosh Gupta said the stock position of motor spirit (MS) and high-speed diesel (HSD) was normal across the state. “OMC depots are maintaining healthy inventory levels, while retail outlets have sufficient stock for uninterrupted sales. There is no cause for concern regarding the availability of automotive fuels,” he said. The incident took place near the Sinwara overbridge on the Jaisalmer-Jamnagar highway stretch when the Bharat Petroleum tanker – travelling from Barmer to Sanchore – overturned, causing the flammable substance to spill and ignite. Police said the fire spread over several metres on the highway, leading to disruption of traffic on one carriageway. While one person in the tanker was burnt alive, another managed to escape in time.
