A24 has announced that Michael Sarnoski will both direct and write the project. Sarnoski’s previous work includes directing the surprisingly stunning Nicolas Cage drama Pig and monster movie thriller A Quiet Place: Day One. The people who get entrapped in the scam, lose large sums of money on a daily basis, the Union Home Ministry said in its latest annual report. According to the report, cybercriminals have been using Google services platforms to initiate these crimes.  “Google Advertisement platform provides a convenient facility for targeted advertisement from across the border. This scam, known as ‘Pig Butchering Scam’ or ‘Investment Scam’ is a global phenomenon and involves large-scale money laundering and even cyber slavery,” it said. What is the ‘pig butchering scam’? Kerala: An outbreak of African Swine Fever, a highly contagious and devastating disease affecting pigs, has been reported in farms in two villages in this district, officials said today (December 13). The outbreak was detected at two pig farms located in the Koottickal and Vazhoor grama panchayats in Kottayam, they added. Kottayam District Collector John V Samuel has ordered the culling of pigs in the affected farms, officials said. “All pigs in the affected farms and within a one km radius will be culled and disposed of according to Central Government guidelines. In case you are wondering, pig butchering is a type of scam that makes investors believe they are getting high returns on their investments by making up numbers. Scammers often use social engineering techniques to prevent the user from withdrawing their pseudo profit and encourage users to keep on investing more and more money. According to a recent report by BleepingComputer citing cybersecurity firm Group-IB, these fake trading apps, which belong to the “UniShadowTrade” family of malware, were first spotted earlier this year in May and are built using the UniApp framework.
