A six-year-old boy suffered severe injuries allegedly after being mauled by a pet pitbull in Northwest Delhi’s Prem Nagar on Sunday evening, said police. The dog owner has been arrested after an FIR was registered in the matter while the condition of the boy continues to be critical. Officers said the child was playing outside his residence when the dog ran out from a neighbour’s house and attacked him, leaving him bleeding on the street. The incident was reported to Prem Nagar police station at 5:38 pm via a PCR call. According to officers, the child was playing in the lane near his house in Vinay Enclave when the pitbull belonging to Rajesh Pal (50) allegedly lunged at him without provocation. Pal, a tailor by profession, lives in the same neighbourhood. Police said the boy’s right ear was bitten off during the attack, and he received multiple deep wounds before neighbours and family members managed to pull the dog away.
