Spotify simplifies importing playlists from other streaming services

Spotify simplifies importing playlists from other streaming services

The feature isn’t something brand-new, built from the ground up. Instead, it’s a direct integration with TuneMyMusic, which lets you shuttle playlists between services like Tidal, YouTube Music, Qobuz, Beatport, and even Napster. Of course, TuneMyMusic is just one of several services that offer the same ability, including Soundiiz and SongShift, which powers Apple Music’s import feature. While you could go straight to these third parties to move playlists between services, often, there are limits on how many playlists and how long they can be at the free tier. Going directly through Spotify and Apple gets you the full premium, unlimited transfer experience, albeit in one direction only. The ability to transfer your playlists from directly within the Spotify mobile app is rolling out now globally. Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here. Spotify Tipped to Be Working on ‘Advanced Mixing Tools’ Features for Playlists

Spotify is tipped to be working on a new feature that will allow users to remix their playlists with “advanced mixing tools”. The mixing tools could allow users to add different transition styles, as well as sequence tracks with a similar key, tempo, and style together. These features could be part of the company’s rumoured Music Pro premium plan whose main attraction is said to be lossless music offering. Notably, last week the music streaming giant released a new AI feature that will allow users to create personalised playlists by just entering text prompts. The information about the new mixing tools comes from a Threads post by tipster Chris Messina (via TechCrunch), who found strings of codes in the latest beta version that reveal what these supposed mixing tools can do. Based on the screenshots shared by Messina, the feature will allow users to “Flex your DJ skills with different transition styles to create the ultimate mix.” But it is not just transition styles which will be offered, as per the tipster. Spotify’s new AI feature builds playlists based on text descriptions

After experimenting with AI playlist generation in its DJ feature last year, Spotify is now launching a beta tool that allows users to create a curated tracklist based on text descriptions. Its new AI Playlist beta is initially rolling out to Spotify Premium subscribers on mobile devices in the United Kingdom and Australia. Android and iOS users in those locations can find the AI Playlist generator by heading into “Your Library” and tapping the “+” button at the top-right of the page. After selecting the AI Playlist option from the drop-down menu, users can type in a prompt — such as “music to read to on a cold, rainy day” — to get a playlist of 30 songs that match that vibe. The results can be tweaked using additional prompts like “more sad music” until the user is satisfied with the playlist, at which point it can be saved by tapping “create” at the top right. This is where you’ll find the feature if AI Playlists have rolled out to your device.Image: Spotify In my …
