The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a response from the Maharashtra government on pleas filed by two accused seeking bail in the Pune Porsche car accident case that claimed two lives earlier in May 2024. The car fatally ran over two techies riding a motorcycle. Inspector Rahul Jagdale and Assistant Police Inspector Vishwanath Todkari, both attached to Yerawada police station and already suspended for negligence and delayed reporting in the case, have now been formally dismissed, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said. A proposal to sack them had been sent to the home department in March 2025, according to the PTI. An internal inquiry found lapses in case registration and delays in collecting blood samples.
