As part of its platinum jubilee celebrations, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur on Monday unveiled a special postage stamp issued by India Post and launched discussions on a proposed strategic outreach initiative in Houston, USA. The event, held at Sriniketan in Bolpur — associated with Rabindranath Tagore and close to Visva Bharati University — highlighted IIT Kharagpur’s 75 years of academic excellence, innovation, and service to the nation. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan presented with postage stamps of Ayodhya temple

The stamps were presented to the Governor by Chief Postmaster General of Telangana Circle P.V.S. Reddy. On January 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released a miniature sheet containing a set of six commemorative stamps dedicated to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Department of Posts has incorporated special features such as gold foiling and sandalwood fragrance on the stamps. Additionally, the sheet included water drawn from the River Sarayu and soil from Ayodhya. Governor praised the Department of Posts for its efforts in preserving cultural heritage. Source link

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released commemorative postage stamps on the Ram temple in Ayodhya and a book of stamps issued on Lord Ram around the world, and said these are not merely pieces of paper but act as medium to pass on historical events to future generations. These tickets are the smallest form of history books, artefacts and historical sites and serve as a miniature form of epics and great ideas, he said in a video message. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday released commemorative postage stamps on the Ram Temple of Ayodhya and a book of stamps dedicated to Lord Ram issued by countries across the world. Components of the design of the stamps include the Ram Temple, choupai (the verse) `Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari`, the sun, the Saryu River and sculptures in and around the temple.  The six commemorative stamps released today include those of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Jatayu, Kevatraj and Ma Shabri- each key figures and symbols associated with Lord Ram`s narrative. The use of gold leaf detailing the sun rays and chaupai featured on the stamps lend a majestic touch to the stamps. The five physical elements i.e. sky, air, fire, earth and water, known as `Panchabhutas` are reflected through various design elements and establish the perfect harmony of Panchamahabhutas essential for all manifestations.
