Dhurandhar 2 craze: Exhibitors suggest Bhoot Bangla to postpone release

Dhurandhar 2 craze: Exhibitors suggest Bhoot Bangla to postpone release

The tale of Dhurandhar continues, as does its rampage at the box office. Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the sequel to Ranveer Singh’s 2025 action drama, is projected to have earned over Rs 72 crore in its Hindi version alone on the opening day, beating Jawan (2023) to become the biggest opener in Hindi cinema. Trade analysts believe the box-office run of Aditya Dhar’s directorial venture will surpass the three-week window it has before Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla arrives on April 10.   According to Rajasthan-based exhibitor Raj Bansal, the makers of the horror comedy should defer its release. “I am sure they will do it. The prices at which Dhurandhar 2 tickets are being sold, it will drain out the entertainment budget for a family [for that month],” Bansal told mid-day. He added that director Priyadarshan’s film will have another disadvantage. “There will be an immediate comparison with Dhurandhar 2.” A still from Bhooth Bangla Even as fans lap up the sequel, Bansal had a point to make. “At INOX, the ticket rate is Rs 1750! That is …

As Kartik Aaryan takes indirect dig at ‘hypermasculine’ Dhurandhar, trade expert says warned actor, Karan Johar to postpone Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri  | Bollywood News

The year 2025 has been a mixed bag when it comes to box office — if there were many that wrapped up at the ticket windows while disappointing their audience (here’s looking at you Sikander and War 2), Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has been an outlier who is daily beaking records in its fourth week. Breaking records that Chhaava, Jawan, Stree 2, and many other films had set, Dhurandhar is also proving to be quite a tough competition to the other releases. While the Hollywood release Avatar Fire and Ash still managed to have a decent box office earning, Kartik Aaryan-Ananya Panday-starrer Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has been hit hard by the Dhurandhar wave. Kartik amplifies post about Tu Meri’s narrative against ‘hypermasculine’ films Kartik Aaryan shared a post by screenplay writer Saurabh Bharat on Monday which feted Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri for being progressive amid films that are hypermasculine. Kartik reacted with a heart on the post that read, “It’s so heartwarming to see that amidst the …

Akhanda 2 new release date forces 2 films to postpone; Mowgli director Sandeep Raj calls himself ‘bad luck’

Akhanda 2 new release date forces 2 films to postpone; Mowgli director Sandeep Raj calls himself ‘bad luck’

Boyapati Srinu’s Balakrishna-starrer Akhanda 2 is cleared for release after legal hurdles deferred its release at the last minute. The film, which was originally scheduled for release on December 5, was postponed at the last minute. And its new release date of December 12 means that the scheduled films Mowgli and Psych Siddhartha had to push their dates. Mowgli director Sandeep Raj penned an emotional note after his film was moved due to Akhanda 2’s new release date. Psych Siddhartha makers push release to New Year’s Producer Rana Daggubati and actor Nandu released a video to announce the new release date of Psych Siddhartha. The video shows Nandu asking Rana to count down to their film’s release, only to be told that Balakrishna’s film is releasing. The video hilariously uses a meme from one of Boyapati and Balakrishna’s Hindi interviews, in which they say, “Already humne bol diya, already caution kiya (We already told you, cautioned you).” They simply say, “Jai Balayya,” in response, announcing that the release is being deferred to January 1, 2026. …

SS Rajamouli wanted to postpone Baahubali because of Bajrangi Bhaijaan? Prabhas recalls Salman Khan’s power, ‘It wasn’t ordinary cinema’

Back in 2015, two iconic movies of Indian cinema were released in the same month, with a gap of just 1 week. These were none other than SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Both films turned out to be huge blockbusters and became ‘landmark’ ventures of Indian cinema. And now, when SS Rajamouli is re-releasing both Baahubali movies as a single film, Baahubali: The Epic, he sat with Prabhas and Rana Daggubati for a fun conversation.  During their candid chat, Rana Daggubati recalled how SS Rajamouli wanted to postpone the release date of Baahubali: The Beginning by one week to avoid the box office clash with Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He said, “We were doing promotions. Rajamouli was saying, ‘Speak to Karan Johar, we will release it next week.’ I said, ‘It doesn’t work like that in Hindi. Everything is done. Now, it can’t happen.’ He was like, ‘It’s just one week only. There is another Hindi movie releasing on the same day’.”  While referring to Salman Khan’s superstardom and how …

Attari border closed: Tourists postpone plans, locals laud PM`s decision

Locals in Amritsar have lauded the decision of the Indian government to shut the Attari Integrated Check Post (ICP), among other diplomatic measures in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. They also condemned Tuesday`s attack and supported the government`s decision, even though some of them had to delay or cancel their plans. A tourist from Rajasthan, Surinder Singh, told ANI that they had come to Amritsar with the hopes of crossing through the border to attend a family wedding in Pakistan, but now the plans have been postponed. “I was going to Pakistan today for my brother`s wedding, but it will be postponed now. My grandmother and her four sons stay in Pakistan, and her one son stays in India. The attack on tourists (in Pahalgam) was very wrong,” he said. Shaitan Singh, a relative of Surinder, expressed uncertainty about his plans. “What the terrorists have done is wrong…We are not being allowed to go (to Pakistan) as the border is closed…Let us see what will happen now,” he told ANI. …
