Revisiting Tiger Shroff’s last 5 flops as he gears up for previously shelved Rambo: From Heropanti 2 to Baaghi 4

Back in 2017, a Hindi remake of Sylvester Stallone’s Hollywood film series Rambo starring Tiger Shroff was first announced. The film was set to go on floors in 2020, and was slated for release on October 2 the same year. But that never happened. Two years ago in 2024, it was reported that the Hindi remake, backed by Siddharth Anand and directed by Rohit Dhawan, was shelved after the underwhelming performance of Tiger’s films Heropanti 2 (2022) and Ganapath (2023). However, earlier this year, Tiger confirmed that Rambo is back on. Tiger Shroff In a chat with Hollywood Reporter India, Tiger Shroff shared, “I’m really, really looking forward to Rambo. Honestly speaking.” He went on to add, “It was six years ago, funnily enough. And then, for whatever reasons, it sort of didn’t take off. Now that it’s finally back into my life, [we’re] revamping it in a very big way and in a very different way.” Tiger further shared, “I’m hoping people like my look. It’s something that I’m experimenting with—taking risks—and it’s not …

Genes matter more for longevity than previously thought| India News

Genes matter more for longevity than previously thought| India News

For decades, the scientific consensus has been remarkably comforting for those of us who want to hack our way to a long life. Research suggested that only 10 to 25% of how long we live is determined by our genes. The rest, three-quarters or more, could be attributed to lifestyle, environment, and the choices we make every day. About two million lives a year are lost to air pollution-related diseases in India. (HT PHOTO) And why wouldn’t this idea appeal to our sensibilities? It is comforting to believe that we mostly control our own destinies. This belief has fuelled a multibillion-dollar wellness industry, promising that the right diet, exercise regimen, supplement stack, or biohacking protocol can substantially extend lives. A study published this month in the peer-reviewed academic journal Science suggests this notion may need some revision. Researchers led by Uri Alon at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel report that the heritability of human lifespan is actually around half, far higher than previous estimates. This does not mean that healthy practices suddenly stop mattering, …

Previously just a six-hitter against spin, Shivam Dube no longer a sitting duck against pace

Previously just a six-hitter against spin, Shivam Dube no longer a sitting duck against pace

Mitchell Santner’s tactical retreat told the story before the over was complete. As Shivam Dube launched his first ball over long-on in Vizag on Wednesday, the New Zealand captain hastily turned around, knowing he’d erred by feeding the left-hander’s arc. But the real statement came moments later — instead of summoning Matt Henry’s raw pace or Jacob Duffy’s variations, Santner called for Glenn Phillips, the off-spinner, in what felt less like strategy and more like admission: Dube had become a problem without a ready-made solution. The New Zealand captain didn’t want to feed him spin in the death overs in case the game got tight, but also knew Dube’s game against pace has improved to such an extent that he couldn’t just have his pacemen knock him over easily. What followed was a 23-ball 65 that provided India’s biggest takeaway ahead of the T20 World Cup: their middle-order enforcer hasn’t just arrived, he’s evolved from the ducking, uncertain batsman against pace he was two years ago. ‘I’ve received more calls than I ever have previously’: Mangesh Yadav after brought for 5.2 crores by RCB | Cricket News

Royal Challengers Bengaluru has brought Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Mangesh Yadav for 5.2 crores. The youngster revealed that he thought there might be one franchise that was interested in him, but never expected four to go after him and shoot his base price. “I’ve received more calls than I ever have previously. But these are things I’ll have to deal with going forward,” Mangesh Yadav, speaking to ESPNcricinfo. “I didn’t know how all of it feels, but I’m blessed to have a lot of people from my own state, like Rajat [Patidar] bhaiyya, Venky [Iyer] bhaiyya and Anand Rajan [former Madhya Pradesh seamer] sir for guidance. Not having to ask my father for money felt like an achievement. Today, I still don’t know how to process the feeling of getting such a massive bid. I want to make my parents feel comfortable. For that, I have to work hard and can’t get carried away.” Despite the glitz and glamour of the IPL, Mangesh revealed that he wanted to continue to perform well in the Vijay Hazare …

Google Chrome Fixes 23-Year-Old Bug That Let Sites See Your Previously Visited Links

Google Chrome Fixes 23-Year-Old Bug That Let Sites See Your Previously Visited Links

Google Chrome will soon receive a patch for a privacy bug that existed for over two decades, allowing a malicious website to identify sites that were previously visited by a user. Over the years, some web browsers previously introduced some measures to deal with the issue, but Google says that the latest fix prevents sites from using security exploits to determine links visited by a user. The fix will arrive with Google Chrome version 136, which is expected to roll out later this month. How :visited Link Partitioning Works In a post on the Chrome developer blog published earlier this month, Google revealed that it has fixed an issue with the CSS :visited selector that could reveal details of a user’s browsing activity to another site. The browser usually shows a visited link in purple instead of blue, indicating the link — on that site — it was previously clicked by a user.  :visited {  color: purple;  background-color: yellow;  } However, browsers also display the visited links with the purple colour on other websites, if …

Privately run immigration detention center that previously held families in Texas will reopen

A private prison company has signed an agreement to reopen an immigrant detention facility in Texas that previously held families with children for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the business said Wednesday. Privately run immigration detention center that previously held families in Texas will reopen Nashville-based CoreCivic announced the contract with ICE and the city of Dilley regarding the 2,400-bed South Texas Family Residential Center, located about 85 miles north of Laredo and the Mexico border. The center was used during the administration of President Barack Obama and Donald Trump’s first presidency. But President Joe Biden phased out family detention in 2021, and CoreCivic said the facility was idled in 2024. “We do acknowledge that we anticipate housing families” at Dilley, CoreCivic spokesman Ryan Gustin told The Associated Press. CoreCivic said in a statement that the facility “was purpose-built for ICE in 2014 to provide an appropriate setting for a family population.” The new contract runs through at least March 2030. ICE officials did not immediately respond to messages seeking information about who will be …

Menendez Brothers Share Their Changed Perspective on Netflix’s Monsters After Previously Slamming Series: ‘It’s Just a Funny…’

Trigger Warning: This article contains mention of sexual abuse and murder. Lyle and Erik Menendez have changed their perspective on Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, now appreciating its contribution to raising awareness about their childhood trauma. Initially, Erik condemned the true-crime series, which debuted in September 2024, for how it presented their case. He originally criticized its portrayal, claiming that it misrepresented major aspects of their story. However, in an appearance on TMZ’s 2 Angry Men podcast, Lyle suggested that the show had helped enlighten many people about the abuse they suffered as children. “To me, it’s just a funny thing — the media and Ryan Murphy’s project were very widely disseminated, and it actually moved a lot of people to understand the childhood trauma that Erik and I suffered, particularly the horrific things that Erik endured,” Lyle said. The series’ producer, Ryan Murphy, previously told Variety, “We gave [the Menendez brothers] their moment in the court of public opinion. Basically, we did give them a platform. I think they can be …
