(Photo: X) Two undertrial inmates made a daring escape from the district jail at Anaugi, approximately 25 km from Kannauj district headquarters, by scaling the prison wall on Sunday night, police reported. As per the officials, the escape was figured out at around 10 am on Monday during the routine headcount. Two prisoners were found missing. As per a report by PTI, five officials, including the jailer and deputy jailer, have been suspended by the authorities over their alleged negligence. Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinod Kumar explained that the inmates utilised blankets to create a makeshift rope and climbed over the jail wall to facilitate their escape.
