Indian youngsters who impressed with their performance

The 2025 Women’s Premier League concluded with Mumbai Indians lifting their second title in front of their home crowd at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday. Many young Indian names impressed in whatever opportunities they were presented with within the five-team competition during the tournament. Here, we take a look at the Indian youngsters who left a lasting impression in the 2025 WPL: Amanjot Kaur Amanjot Kaur, a part of the Mumbai Indians since the inaugural edition, has often been an underused asset within the setup. She rarely got any opportunities to make any significant impact in the first two editions. However, the 2025 WPL was different for Amanjot. She was entrusted with more responsibility as the Mumbai Indians often lost a plethora of wickets. Amanjot starred with the bat in the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scoring an unbeaten 34 to provide finishing touches to a tense chase early in the tournament. She guided the teenager G Kamalini well to help her team through. Amanjot also played a crucial cameo in the final against the …

Priya Mishra bamboozles UP Warriorz with her leg spin in WPL 2025

Gujarat Giants’ Priya Mishra spun a web around the UP Warriorz batters in their 2025 Women’s Premier League clash at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday. The leg-spinner, after going wicketless in her debut match against RCB, was back to her best against the Warriorz. She struck twice in the 11th over of the innings, prizing out Australia’s Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris – Warriorz’s designated finished – within a span of three balls. While McGrath was undone by a ball skidding into her, getting struck in the crease, Harris failed to read the youngster’s googly after having just escaped with an inside edge the previous ball. Within the span of minutes, Mishra helped Giants reduce the Warriorz from 74/3 to 78/5. The 20-year-old from Delhi struck once more in the match, scalping the wicket of Warriorz skipper and top-scorer Deepti Sharma. Can the WPL produce superstars from domestic Indian cricketers this third edition? | Cricket News

From one city in its inaugural edition, the Women’s Premier League will spread its wings a little further for the third season, being held in four different venues across the country, starting with Vadodara on Friday. Gujarat Giants will play hosts to Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the first leg kicks off at the BCA Stadium. After six matches, the caravan will shift to the home of the defending champions in Bengaluru. Lucknow will then take centerstage where UP Warriorz will get a chance to play in their home venue for the first time, then the curtains will come down in Mumbai. Indian cricket, meanwhile, would love to see the spread of WPL across the length and breadth of the country reflected in the performances on the field too. There is little doubt that the first two editions have helped female domestic cricketers achieve financial security while also providing a bigger platform to showcase their skills. The likes of Saika Ishaque, Asha Sobhana, Sajana Sajeevan and Shreyanka Patil have gone on to play for India, thanks …

India vs West Indies: Arundhati Reddy, Shafali Verma not named in ODI, T20I squads; Nandini Kashyap among new call-ups | Cricket News

In a 0-3 series drubbing in Australia, India had very positive takeaways. But one of the brighter performances came from Arundhati Reddy, who played just in the third ODI in Perth and ran through a strong Australian batting order with four wickets in one spell. However, the pacer has now been left out of both the T20I and ODI squads named to take on West Indies in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara, respectively. In a press release issued by the BCCI on Wednesday, Arundhati’s name is a notable miss as she is not listed among the players missing due to injury. The statement mentioned only Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil and Priya Punia as being unavailable for selection. Also absent from both squads is Shafali Verma, who seems to have fallen out of favour in T20Is too after being dropped for the ODI series in Australia. On the flip side, there were three fresh call-ups: Nandini Kashyap, Raghvi Bist in the T20I squad and Pratika Rawal for ODIs. 🚨 NEWS 🚨 India’s squad for IDFC First Bank …
