The Esports Foundation (EF) has appointed over 700 Game Coaches representing National Team Partners (NTPs) from more than 100 nations. NODWIN Gaming, India’s NTP, has selected coaches across key titles. Their responsibilities include identifying players, defining team strategy, and building competitive lineups. The developers of Palworld and PUBG: Battlegrounds have announced details of dating simulators set in the universes of their respective games. The Palworld dating sim, technically called Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~, was actually announced ahead of April Fools’ Day last year. But yesterday, developer Pocketpair released a second trailer for the game and published an official Steam listing, so it seems like it’s a bit closer to actually releasing. According to the Steam page, “You, the protagonist, enroll as a transfer student in the prestigious Palpagos Private Academy. You will meet unique friends (pals) and enjoy school life through friendship and romance. Patna: In an unfortunate accident, three teenagers lost their lives after being crushed by a train while engrossed in playing the mobile game (PUBG) in Bihar’s West Champaran district on Thursday, police said. The accident occurred near the Royal School at Mansa Tola on the Narkatiaganj-Muzaffarpur rail section under the Mufassil police station. The teenagers, all wearing earphones, were so absorbed in the game that they failed to notice an approaching train. Tragically, this distraction led to the accident, leaving the local community in shock. Authorities have initiated an investigation and are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the accident. The deceased have been identified as Furkan Alam, a resident of Railway Gumti; Mansha Tola; Sameer Alam, a resident of Bari Tola; and Habibullah Ansari. Following the accident, hundreds of local residents gathered at the scene in shock and grief. The families of the victims have taken their children’s bodies home for burial rites. Final Fantasy XIV, the long-running popular MMORPG from Square Enix, is coming to mobile platforms, the publisher announced Wednesday. The mobile version of the game will be developed by Tencent-owned Lightspeed Studios, that previously worked on PUBG Mobile. Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will feature faithful recreation of the original game’s gameplay and story experience, Square Enix said in its announcement. Samsung has confirmed that several of its premium handsets will support the popular mobile game PUBG at a higher frame rate than before. The battle royale game published by Krafton is available to smartphone users on both Android and iOS devices. Up until recently, the game supported frame rate of up to 90fps (frames per second). With the latest update, the game can be accessed at a higher frame rate. Samsung has announced the list of smartphones that will support the higher frame rate gameplay. China’s Tencent Holdings posted a weaker-than-expected 7% rise in fourth-quarter revenue on Wednesday as its gaming revenue shrank, and said it was expecting to at least double its share buybacks this year. The world’s largest video game company and operator of the WeChat messaging platform reported revenue of 155.19 billion yuan ($21.56 billion) for the three months ended Dec. 31. That compared with the 157.2 billion yuan average of 23 analyst estimates compiled by LSEG. Tencent’s core gaming business suffered a notable slowdown in the fourth quarter. Gaming revenue in China declined 3% to 27 billion yuan, while international gaming revenue increased only 1% to 13.9 billion yuan, or declined by 1% when excluding currency fluctuations. The company also said intends to at least double the size of its share repurchases from HK$49 billion in 2023 to over HK$100 billion ($12.78 billion) in 2024.
