A 33-year-old gym owner was seriously injured after he was allegedly shot at and attacked with a sharp weapon in Pune’s Sahakar Nagar area on Wednesday night. Police have detained four suspects in connection with the incident and launched an investigation into the motive behind the attack, reported IANS. According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered at Sahakar Nagar Police Station, the victim, Yogesh Mahesh Banekar, had stopped his motorcycle near Bikaner Chowk around 9.45 pm to buy fruits. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Parvati police station on Tuesday evening based on a complaint filed by the woman journalist, who works for a television channel in the city. Police booked Pandit under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita sections 75 (Sexual harassment), 78 (Stalking), 352 (Intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 351 (Criminal intimidation) and 196 (obscene acts). The protest, held on Tuesday afternoon, was organised by social activist Sangeeta Tiwari and being held near Grahak Peth on Tilak Road.
