Pune rains: Waste mound collapses at Moshi dump yard, operations underway
Heavy rainfall triggered a major landslide at the Moshi garbage depot in Pune district in Maharashtra on Tuesday, causing a large mound of waste to collapse onto the administrative building of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Waste-to-Energy project, officials said. Emergency teams rushed to the site soon after the incident, and rescue operations are continuing. Officials fear that eight to ten employees may be trapped beneath the collapsed waste and debris.
