File | Photo Credit: ANI The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has urged educational institutions, organisations and the public to give priority to identifying talented children, particularly girls, children from weaker sections, SC/ST communities and children with special needs, for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP)-2026. In a statement, APSCHE Chairman K. Madhu Murty said many deserving children often remain unnoticed as they do not seek public attention, and said such achievers should be encouraged and nominated for national recognition. APSCHE said online nominations and recommendations for the PMRBP-2026 were being invited through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal (awards.gov.in). Instituted by the Government of India, the award recognises the achievements of children below 18 years of age as on July 31, 2026, at the national and international levels. The central government on Tuesday selected 60 Parachute Field Hospital in Uttar Pradesh, which provided medical aid for earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria, for the Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar for the year 2024 for excellence in disaster management. The award is announced every year on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. It carries a cash prize of Rs 51 lakh and a certificate in case of an institution and Rs 5 lakh and a certificate in case of an individual. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that 60 Parachute Field Hospital, Uttar Pradesh, that was established in 1942 is being honoured in the institutional category.
