Chandrababu Naidu, Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh said. Speaking at a review meeting held at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on Monday (May 4, 2026), under the chairmanship of Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, the Minister said nearly 10 crore devotees were expected to attend the festival, and ensuring the safety and convenience of pilgrims was the government’s top priority. The once-in-12 years mega religious fete is dedicated to worshipping the subterranean Saraswati river which converges with the Godavari and the Pranahita at the confluence point called ‘Triveni Sangamam’ in Kaleshwaram, a town bordering Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. These include four District Panchayat Officers (DPOs), four District Level Panchayat Officers (DLPOs), 14 Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs), and 28 Mandal Panchayat Officers (MPOs). They will report to the Jayashankar Bhupalpally Collector and coordinate with ground-level staff to maintain cleanliness throughout the festival. The 12-day Saraswati Pushkaralu will begin on May 15 at Triveni Sangamam near Kaleshwaram, where the Godavari, Pranahita, and the invisible Saraswati rivers converge. The State government is making elaborate preparations to ensure the event is a grand success. As part of these efforts, IT and Industries Minister D. Replying to a question by TDP MLA Adireddy Srinivas and others in the Legislative Assembly on Monday (March 3, 2025), the Minister said that Chief Minister N. Chadranbabu Naidu’s vision was to celebrate Godavari Pushkaralu on a par with the Maha Kumbh Mela. The Chief Minister suggested moving forward with a solid plan and coordination between departments from now on. Though there were two years left, as per the Chief Minister’s directive, a preparatory meeting for the Pushkaralu was recently held in Rajamahendravaram, where various issues were discussed. “During the 2015 Godavari Pushkaralu, we completed 307 works at a cost of ₹117 crore.
