AI Compliance Failures Put Australian Enterprises on Notice

AI Compliance Failures Put Australian Enterprises on Notice

The research, released by the Amsterdam-based nonprofit Aithos Research Foundation, tested 12 frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Mistral across simulated workplace scenarios that covered legal obligations. The best-performing model violated applicable law in nearly half of all test runs; the worst failed in 93 percent of scenarios. While the test was run against EU laws, these publicly accessible AI models are not limited to that region. As such, Australian organizations, especially those with high rates of AI agent deployment, should treat these findings as a vendor-readiness signal. What the researchers tested Aithos used its LARA (Legal Assessment for Real-world Agents) framework, a publicly available testing system that evaluates AI models in simulated workplace environments rather than through static benchmarks. In LARA tests, models can access tools that mirror a real enterprise deployment: email, messaging platforms, calendars, customer databases, and social media channels. Test scenarios included data protection handling, emotion inference in the workplace, psychological profiling, social scoring, and exploitation of vulnerable individuals. The framework generated more than 3,000 assessment runs, which were validated …

The matter escalated to the point where the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against him, a decision that was later revoked. Amid the ongoing developments, Kangana Ranaut weighed in on the controversy, saying she could relate to the situation, having faced similar challenges throughout her own career. ‘They tried to put me in jail’ “Yeah, of course. I was the first one to be banned. They put cases on me. They tried to frame me legally. They tried to put me in jail,” she told Fever FM. Recalling her own experiences, Kangana added, “At one point, I had so many cases on me that my lawyer was attending to all these dates. It’s peshiyan hi peshiyan (hearing after hearing). And after that, I was banned by the …

Delivering a lecture at the Oxford Union and the Oxford Law Society on the theme “Constitutional Promise to Digital Reality: Safeguarding Justice in the Age of AI and Technological Advancement”, the CJI said that in addition to ongoing technological initiatives, serious efforts are underway to explore establishing an indigenous AI ecosystem for the judiciary. “The Supreme Court of India has consciously approached technology as an aid to human reasoning rather than as a substitute for independent judicial thought. Considerable emphasis, however, has been placed upon the development of what may be described as a distinctly Indian or ‘Swadeshi …

Amid Peddi row, Nithya Menen says objectification of women isn’t limited to South: ‘Actors should put their foot down’

The controversy surrounding the portrayal of women in films has once again come into focus following the backlash against Peddi for allegedly hypersexualising Janhvi Kapoor‘s character. Amid the debate, actor Nithya Menen weighed in on the issue, arguing that objectification of women is not unique to South Indian cinema but reflects a wider trend across the film industry. Nithya Menen talked about objectification of women in film industry. Nithya Menen on objectification of women in films In an interview with Variety India, Nithya said that the objectification of women in films is ‘not limited to South cinema’ but is a ‘trend’ across the entertainment industry. She further stated that the root of the issue lies in the “hyper-commercialisation” of cinema. She added, “Whatever works commercially and titillates the audience is often indulged in for mass success. Is it too much? Absolutely. I wonder if actors should actually have better boundaries and the person who’s performing the scene should be able to put their foot down and say they are not okay with being objectified.” The …

Gill, Rahul tons put Afghanistan to the sword on Day 1

Gill, Rahul tons put Afghanistan to the sword on Day 1

By the time Zia Ur Rahman and Azmatullah Omarzai skimmed through their first overs of the day against Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul, it was amply clear that the pitch and the seamers could not have startled the Indian openers. Playing a Test match in the burning June heat at a new northern venue is a relatively new experience for the Indian unit, too. But the feeling of facing Test thoroughbreds for days is much more stifling for Afghanistan. An unhelpful bowling surface, though, isn’t a new feeling for Rahman and his teammates. They dwell on nature-proof cement slabs day in and day out back home. Adjusting to the surface after losing the toss at the New PCA Stadium on Saturday, Afghanistan had exhausted reserves of an entire XI, sapped limbs, sloppy palms and uninspired minds. The visitors were soon teleported back in time. Back to 2018, when a classic desi batting order gatecrashed their red-letter day in Bengaluru. Shubman Gill’s group matched them on execution and buried the Afghans under a greater volume of …

Relief material recoveries put several Trinamool leaders under scanner; many arrested, others face protest

A local Trinamool Congress leader, Ramesh Patra, being arrested recently for alleged fraud, in Hooghly. | Photo Credit: ANI As the crackdown on Trinamool Congress leaders continues in West Bengal, many of them have found themselves on the wrong side of the law over allegations of hoarding and diverting government relief materials meant for disaster-hit residents. While some of them have been arrested, others face protests by locals. Among the latest incidents, a large quantity of blankets, tarpaulins, clothes, rice, and wheat was allegedly recovered from locked Eastern Coalfields Limited quarters linked to TMC leader Udeep Singh in the Jamuria coal mine area of Pashchim Bardhaman district on Thursday (June 4 ).  On the same day, recoveries of relief materials were reportedly made from the residence of former Trinamool Minister Giasuddin Molla in Usti, South 24 Parganas district. Soon after the recoveries, locals started protesting outside the house and shouted “thief, thief”.  Former party MLA Narendranath Chakraborty from the Pandabeswar Assembly constituency in Paschim Bardhaman also came under fire after tarpaulins, clothes, and food items were allegedly found in a godown right beside his residence during a search operation by police. The recoveries, also on Thursday, led to …

Cisco Warns Agentic AI Will Put New Pressure on Enterprise Networks

Cisco Warns Agentic AI Will Put New Pressure on Enterprise Networks

AI’s infrastructure problem keeps moving. First, companies needed faster chips. Then they needed more GPUs, bigger data centers, and enough electricity to keep those AI factories running. At Cisco Live in Las Vegas, Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins argued that the next major constraint is the network itself. Robbins said AI traffic could triple over the next three years as enterprises move from chatbots to agentic systems that act, communicate, and make decisions at machine speed. For IT leaders, the message was clear: AI ambitions may soon depend less on access to models and more on whether the network can carry the load. “Every technical innovation over the past 40 years and all the current buzz about GPUs, inferencing, agentic AI, and the latest models — it is all dependent on the network,” Robbins explained. “We expect at least a tripling of networking traffic over the next three years due to the evolving capabilities and consumption demands of AI.” Starbucks and networking Robbins concluded his keynote by introducing Brian Niccol, chairman and CEO of …

Makers allege unfair show allocation, put programming on hold

June’s first week has begun on a high note for cinephiles, with multiple releases lined up. From Bandar, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, and Peddi to He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe, several films are hitting the screens. Bobby Deol’s Bandar has reportedly hit a roadblock in securing adequate shows at national multiplex chains, prompting its makers to put the film’s programming on hold. Bandar makers ask national chains to put programming on hold As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source told the portal, “The makers of Bandar planned for an audience-oriented release, requesting only 4 shows in 5-screen multiplexes and 3 shows in 4-screen plexes post 1 pm, which seems a fair and doable ask. But since PVR Inox and Cinepolis are distributing Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and PVR is partly distributing Peddi for Jio Studios, the national chains have allotted unfair shows to Bandar.” Disclaimer: We do not own any of the content, ideas, images, or text presented here. iPhone Exploits, Zero-Days Put Millions at Risk

iPhone Exploits, Zero-Days Put Millions at Risk

Apple’s security year so far has been anything but quiet. The company’s 2026 security cycle has been dominated by a steady stream of updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and Safari, with most major platforms now on versions 26.5 or later. Below is a breakdown of the company’s key security events so far this year. Apple’s first zero-day of 2026 One of the most significant security events of the year came in February, when Apple disclosed CVE-2026-20700, a vulnerability affecting a core operating system component known as dyld. The flaw could allow attackers to execute malicious code on vulnerable devices. Apple warned that it had been used in what the company described as “extremely sophisticated” attacks against specific individuals. The issue affected iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, Apple TVs, and Vision Pro devices before Apple released patches through iOS 26.3, iPadOS 26.3, macOS Tahoe 26.3, watchOS 26.3, tvOS 26.3, and visionOS 26.3. According to Apple’s advisory, “An attacker with memory write capability may be able to execute arbitrary code.” Researchers noted that the …
