Kedarnath set to open on May 2; temple being adorned with 13 quintals of flowers
The Kedarnath Temple is being decorated with 13 quintals of flowers as the doors of Kedarnath Dham prepare to open this Friday. The idol of Baba Kedarnath will be brought to Kedarnath Dham on May 1, and the temple doors will open for devotees on May 2 at 7 am. On Wednesday, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened to devotees on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, with Vedic chants and rituals. This marks the official beginning of the Char Dham Yatra 2025 in Uttarakhand. Flowers were showered from a helicopter onto the devotees visiting Shri Gangotri Dham and Yamunotri temple. During the Kapadodghatan ceremony at both Dhams, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami pledged and performed the first puja in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He prayed for the successful organisation of the Chardham Yatra and the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the country and the state.
