Quinton de Kock, on what brought him back: ‘I missed the camaraderie and the whole thing of representing the Proteas’ | Cricket News

The 2023 World Cup, though South Africa lost narrowly to the Australians in semis, had been a dream farewell tournament for Quinton de Kock. He got a bucket full of runs, 4 centuries, including three scores of over 150 in India two Novembers ago, and then was supposed to walk into the sunset. But admiring beautiful sunsets can’t be the only thing in life at age 32. So the itch struck back to return to do what he loves best. After disappearing, de Kock resurfaced. “I missed the camaraderie and the whole thing of representing the Proteas,” QdK had said soon after he re-appeared on the scene earlier, getting into selection contention in the Africa tri-series with Zimbabwe and Namibia. He was struck by the realisation that he loved international cricket, after franchise-cricket just didn’t cut it for him wholly. In his first media interaction post-comeback, QdK had said, “I’d played so much for the Proteas over the years that I kind of forgot about that feeling, as a kid that’s grown up to be …

“My Wife Chills…”: KKR Star Quinton De Kock’s Hilarious ‘Cooking’ Comment

In a delightful culinary crossover celebrating Poila Baisakh (Bengali New Year), KKR’s cooking show ‘Knight Bite’ featured South African cricketers Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje alongside Indian star Manish Pandey for a special fusion cooking session ahead of their clash against Punjab Kings. When asked about his kitchen experience, Quinton de Kock surprised everyone with his response, “I live in the kitchen back home. My wife chills, I do all the cooking.” The South African wicketkeeper seemed quite comfortable with the cooking process, even as his teammate Nortje admitted it was his ‘first time in the kitchen in a very long time’. Both South African cricketers revealed their love for fishing, with de Kock explaining what draws him to the sport: “The adrenaline rush you get from it… places around the world you go to… I’ve been all over like the Amazon, St. Charles, and going to mid-Africa for a good time with friends,” creating a perfect connection to the cooking session where they prepared fish they didn’t have to catch. The cooking …

KKR Skipper Ajinkya Rahane (38) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50) laid the foundation of the total in their partnership of 81 after openers fell early. However, vice-captain Venkatesh Iyer stole the show with his 29-ball 60 after KKR were invited to bat. WATCH: Suryakumar Yadav’s half flick-scoop shot, stunned Ryan Rickelton tells KKR’s Quinton de Kock ‘he’s a joke’ | Ipl News

Suryakumar Yadav has not been in the best of nicks heading into the IPL 2025 season. The India T20I captain was silenced for the majority of the five-match series that his side won 4-1 over England in January. Glimpses of SKY specials had, however, touched down in Ahmedabad a couple of days ago but the Mumbai maverick could not prevent a crushing defeat against the Gujarat Titans. Monday brought a pretty casual opportunity in the middle for Suryakumar after the bowlers had nearly killed the game, bundling Kolkata Knight Riders for a paltry 116. With only 26 required from 55 balls, Suryakumar decided to have a waltz and entertain the Wankhede crowd in MI’s first outing at home this edition with a dazzling 27* in only 9 deliveries. Wonder scoop Of only his second delivery, SKY opened his account with trademark daredevilry as he picked on Andre Russell’s wide back-of-a-length delivery outside the off-stump. Gently shuffling across, Suryakumar unfurled a stroke that nearly packed three shots into a fine – a flick, a part-scoop and …
