Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra ends in Mumbai today. Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will end today in Mumbai with his key allies in attendance, two months after he began the 6,700-km foot march from Manipur. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will attend the event at Shivaji Park that marks the end of the yatra, a Congress leader said. Meanwhile, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah raising concerns over the security lapses faced by Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s Assam leg and asked him to ensure the party leader’s safety. In his letter, Kharge mentioned incidents of Gandhi’s convoy being blocked by BJP workers in Nagaon and the state party president Bhupen Borah being physically assaulted in Sonitpur district. He said that there have been several instances where the Assam Police has been found wanting to provide adequate security to Gandhi, who is entitled to Z+ security. This letter comes after the Assam police registered a case against Gandhi and other Congress leaders yesterday, following a scuffle between participants of the Yatra and the Assam Police when they attempted to enter Guwahati city. Congress To Kick-Start Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra From Manipur Today Amid These Restrictions

The Yatra is slated to be flagged off from a private ground in Manipure’ Thoubal district Imphal, Manipur: The Manipur government has imposed restrictions on the flagging off programme of Congress’ Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Thoubal district on January 14 stating that the programme should not exceed an hour and the number of participants be a maximum 3000. The permission was issued by the office of Thoubal deputy commissioner on January 11 and was shared by the party with the reporters here on Saturday, a day ahead of the yatra. The permission said the programme should not exceed an hour as the venue is just beside and along the national highway and traffic has to be diverted to alternate routes, it said. Also the number of participants should be restricted to a “manageable limit” of maximium 3000 persons, it said. The Congress had changed the venue from Imphal Palace Ground to a private ground in Thoubal after the BJP-led N Biren Singh government had given conditional approval to flag off the yatra from the …
