Rains hit Mumbai. Celebs spill their monsoon plans

After a long delay, the monsoon has finally arrived in Maharashtra on Tuesday. We caught up with celebrities in Mumbai to see how they are navigating waterlogging, traffic snarls and longer commutes this season Even Google gets emotionally overwhelmed during monsoon: Adah Sharma Adah Sharma, Akriti Kakar and Abhishek Banerjee When I need to go somewhere, I leave much earlier than necessary because, during the monsoon, even Google Maps gets emotionally overwhelmed and starts lying to me. So, my monsoon navigation strategy is simple: leave early, pray to the rain gods, carry snacks, and maintain the optimism of a Mumbaikar! Also, after doing action films, I feel I should be able to cross a flooded road, dodge three autos and two puddles, all while holding on to an umbrella trying to fly away in the wind. If not, all that training was for nothing. I write new music while stuck in jams: Akriti Kakar I honestly love the monsoons, but only when I get to enjoy the rain from my balcony! Stella, said the delay was caused by a break in the monsoon’s progress and highlighted that the onset over Kerala does not necessarily guarantee continuous advancement across the country. “There was a lull in between. Onset over Kerala does not mean there will be uninterrupted progression. Depending on favourable wind conditions and rainfall, we can only say that the monsoon is likely to progress over the next three or four days. We cannot predict its movement well in advance,” she …

Bengaluru weather LIVE: Heavy rains and hailstorms throw life out of gear in city

Bengaluru weather LIVE: Heavy rains and hailstorms throw life out of gear in city

The infamous KR Circle underpass, which claimed the life of a 23-year-old techie from Andhra Pradesh three years ago, was once again submerged following heavy rains on Wednesday, raising serious concerns over civic inaction. Despite police barricading and blocking entry and exit points, officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike are yet to initiate immediate remedial measures and are reportedly waiting for the water to recede. According to a police officer on the spot, the accumulated water cannot be pumped out as there is no proper outlet, and doing so could flood adjoining roads. The flooding severely disrupted traffic around KR Circle, located close to Vidhana Soudha, with congestion persisting even on Thursday morning. Officials recalled that the then BBMP had undertaken desilting work in the underpass after the earlier tragedy to facilitate drainage. However, the latest flooding has once again exposed the inefficacy of those measures, with little improvement on the ground.
