Man Hangs Self In Police Custody In Rajasthan: Cops

A man arrested on murder charges allegedly committed suicide in custody. (Representational) Jaipur: A man who was arrested on murder charges allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the window of a prison in Dausa’s Lalsot police station, police said today. Dausa Superintendent Ranjeeta Sharma said Manoj Meena, 32, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly murdering his relative and was in custody. On the night of his arrest, Manoj Meena hanged himself from the window of the jail with a blanket, the Superintendent of Police said. He was immediately rushed to the district hospital where he was declared dead, she said. The postmortem of the body has been conducted and will be handed over to family members. Masked Men Loot Over Rs 10 Lakh From Rajasthan Bank

The accused fired a shot in the air to terrorise the bank staffers, the police said. (Representational) Kota:  Two masked men carrying firearms looted Rs 10.75 lakh from a bank in Badgaun village of Baran district on Wednesday, police said. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Baran Rajesh Choudhary said two bike-borne masked men carrying firearms barged into the Badgaun village branch of the UCO bank around 12 noon and looted Rs 10.75 lakh. They fired a shot in the air to terrorise the bank staffers, the police officer said, adding that a used cartridge was found at the spot. On receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Police teams have been formed to arrest the accused and CCTV footage was being examined, the ASP said. Speeding Scorpio Rams Vehicles, Kills 1 In Rajasthan. Driver Assaulted

One person died on the way to a hospital. Chittorgarh: A speeding Scorpio car hurtled out of control, crushing two individuals under its wheels, killing one and severely injuring the other in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh Monday evening.  According to the police, the Scorpio, driven by three young men allegedly drunk, went recklessly through Chittorgarh’s Bassi town. Eyewitnesses described the vehicle veering off its path, demolishing street stalls and colliding with parked motorcycles before striking the unsuspecting victims. As soon as the Scorpio came to a halt, locals in the area intervened and assaulted the three men before handing them over to the police.  Video footage of the aftermath of the accident shows several two-wheelers hit and lying on the ground, vegetable carts and other stalls crushed and the three men who were in the Scorpio carrying wounds on their bodies from the assault by the locals.  The injured were promptly rushed to Bassi Hospital for treatment, however, 70-year-old Mitthu Lal Mewada died during transit to a hospital in Udaipur. Man Arrested For Killing 22-Year-Old Woman In Rajasthan’s Bharatpur

(Representational) Jaipur: A 32-year-old man was detained in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district on Wednesday for allegedly murdering a woman over some dispute, police said. They said Sonu Sharma slit Poonam Sharma’s throat at a rented room in Patpara colony under the Sar Mathura police station area. “The matter seems to be a love affair. The accused has been detained and is being interrogated. The accused is married and has children but the victim was unmarried. The exact reason behind the attack is being probed,” Bharatpur DSP Sunil Kumar Sharma said. He said the body was handed over to the woman’s family members after a post-mortem examination. The police officer said the accused also tried slitting his wrist and injured himself but was discharged after primary treatment at a hospital. Kailash Bagari allegedly murdered his wife Tinku Bai (26) in their rented house at Prem Nagar-2 colony under the Udhyog Nagar Police Station limits on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday, Circle Officer DSP Dharmveer Singh said. Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jaipur on Decmber 5. Jaipur: Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi’s security guard, who was injured in the attack on the Rajput leader, died at a hospital here on Tuesday, police said. Ajit Singh had sustained bullet injuries when two men shot dead Gogamedi in the living room of his house in the Shyam Nagar area here on December 5. Singh was undergoing treatment at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital here and succumbed to his injuries, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Yogesh Goyal. Three people, including the two shooters, have been arrested in connection with the attack. The shooters, Nitin Fauji and Rohit Rathore, had gone to Gogamedi’s house with Naveen Shekhawat. 2 Rajasthan Police Officers Suspended Over Public Spat

Two Police officers suspended after a public spat last month in Rajasthan’s Banswara. (Representational) Jaipur: Rajasthan Police chief Umesh Mishra has suspended two police officers following a public spat between them, officials said. The incident occurred last month in Banswara district where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come to visit Mangarh Dham, they said. Shortly after Mr Modi left, Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officer Vivek Singh and Inspector Shailendra Singh had a confrontation over collecting a rope which was used for controlling the crowd near the venue, officials said. As tempers flared, other police personnel present there had to intervene to pacify the duo. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms.
