The 60 Para Field Ambulance, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel AG Rangaraj, Maha Vir Chakra, earned recognition for treating thousands of wounded soldiers and civilians under difficult conditions during the three-year war. The unit, which participated in airborne operations in Korea, deployed 627 soldiers and treated more than 2,22,000 patients. India, Vietnam discuss deepening defence ties as Rajnath Singh meets Phan Van Giang in Hanoi | India News

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday met his Vietnamese counterpart, General Phan Van Giang, in Hanoi, where they reviewed the growing partnership between the two countries and discussed ways to deepen cooperation in maritime security, defence industry, training, and regional stability. As per a statement issued by the Ministry of Defence, the two sides exchanged views on regional and global security developments of mutual interest and emphasised the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region. The statement added that they discussed avenues to expand cooperation in areas including military training, defence industry collaboration, maritime security, capacity building, United Nations peacekeeping, cyber security, and high-level exchanges. Rajnath Singh cuts convoy size after PM Modi’s fuel conservation appeal

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has reduced the size of his official convoy to less than half following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation in view of the ongoing crisis in West Asia and rising concerns over global energy stability. Several ministers and senior political leaders across the country have also started taking measures to reduce fuel consumption by downsizing official vehicle fleets and encouraging the use of public transport and virtual meetings.
