The Suburban Trains Travellers Association also appealed to railway authorities to take immediate steps to strengthen MMTS train services in view of the prevailing fuel crisis and the growing demand for public transport among daily commuters. The association said the existing suburban train schedules were not commuter-friendly due to inconvenient timings. It suggested that the frequency of MMTS services should be increased to once every 30 minutes by optimising available resources. It also proposed reducing rake composition …

Tu Yaa Main Day 1 Box Office Collections: Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor starrer takes low start, rakes in Rs 60 lakh day 1

Tu Yaa Main Day 1 Box Office Collections: Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor starrer takes low start, rakes in Rs 60 lakh day 1

Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor in the lead roles, opened on a dull note at the box office. As per estimates, the horror survival thriller netted around Rs. 55 lakh to Rs. 60 lakh on its opening day in India.  Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the movie should aim for a good spike on Valentine’s Day. Though it’s not a holiday, still it is a slightly lucrative day as per business perspective. Since Tu Yaa Main targets Gen Z and the young urban audience, it might help to gain some good traction. The opening weekend of Tu Yaa Main is likely to be around Rs. 2 to Rs. 3 crore, depending on how it grows on Saturday and Sunday.  The survival thriller is clashing with a relatively bigger film, O’Romeo starring Shahid Kapoor. The movie has comparatively lesser screen count due to no star value. However, it might see a respectable run if it manages to grow with mouth publicity.  So far, Tu Yaa Main met with mixed-bag reactions among the audience, …

The Sunny Deol fronted military war film, featuring an ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, has collected Rs. 295 crore nett approx in India so far and is headed for to close its run around Rs. 310 crore nett. Additionally, the film has earned USD 6.10 million (Rs. 56 crore) overseas, giving it a worldwide box office gross of Rs. 410 crore. The final figure will be around Rs. 430 crore. Coming to the recoveries, the distributor share from these box office grosses will be Rs. 180 crore approx, splitting Rs. 157 crore and Rs. 23 crore for domestic and overseas respectively. On the non-theatrical front, recoveries from digital, satellite and music rights are pegged at Rs. 160 crore approx, combining outright sales and in-house valuations. Border 2 Box Office Collections: Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty film rakes in 258cr in 11 days

Border 2 Box Office Collections: Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty film rakes in 258cr in 11 days

Border 2 collected Rs. 5.25 crore nett approx on its 2nd Monday. The drop from 2nd Friday is 48 per cent and 74 per cent from 2nd Sunday. The business has once again dropped a bit much on a weekday. This is unlike films like this, which tend to do better on weekdays relative to urban multiplex films, which are more concentrated on weekends. The film has collected Rs. 51 crore nett approx in four days of the second week, for the total box office collections of Rs. 258 crore nett approx. The week is headed for Rs. 65-66 crore nett, which will take it around Rs. 275 crore nett by Thursday.  Border 2 opened well last week and then showcased an extraordinary trend over the weekend. That made it look like it could go on to collect Rs. 500 crore nett or more. However, the business came down on weekdays, especially on Wednesday, which effectively ruled that out. Had the film dropped further on 2nd weekend, that would have put reaching Rs. 300 crore …

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collections: Rani Mukerji film grows on Sunday, rakes in 17cr weekend in India

Mardaani 3 Box Office Collections: Rani Mukerji film grows on Sunday, rakes in 17cr weekend in India

Mardaani 3 collected Rs. 7 crore nett approx on its third day, and with that, it wrapped its opening weekend at Rs. 16.75 crore nett approx. The Rani Mukerji starrer had a decent growth on Saturday but made good gains on Sunday of roughly 20 per cent. One generally doesn’t associate this kind of jump with films in this zone, although this probably has a bit more mass appeal than the regular small/midscale urban multiplex films.  Sunday has put the film in a better position than it was on Saturday. What it needs now is to hold well on Monday and sustain at that level on weekdays. The weekend is lower than Mardaani 2 (Rs. 18 crore nett) and likely the first week will be as well, but what it has in its advantage is lesser competition in the second and third week. On the other hand, Mardaani 2 had to face Dabangg 3 and Good Newwz in its second and third weeks. This would give Mardaani 3 a chance to catch and possibly exceed …

Border 2 Box Office Collections: Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty film rakes in 63cr in 2 days

Border 2 Box Office Collections: Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty film rakes in 63cr in 2 days

Border 2 collected Rs. 34.50 crore nett approx on its second day at the Indian box office. That marks a 23 per cent growth over its opening day, which is a superb trend. For a film like Border 2, which opens well and has a considerable share of business coming from smaller centres, staying flat or a minor bump on the second day is considered acceptable. The two-day running total for the film stands at Rs. 62.50 crore nett approx, with the Sunny Deol starrer headed for Rs. 100 crore plus nett weekend. The film experienced its best growth in Mumbai and the Southern circuits on Saturday, which were on the lower side on opening day. Mumbai was up by around 45 per cent, with the Mumbai-Pune belt growing closer to 50 per cent, while Gujarat also saw a healthy 40 per cent jump. The latter is a Sunday market and should experience further growth today. In South, Mysore was up by nearly 50 per cent. The Northern circuits continue to perform strongly, with bigger urban …

Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Rakes in Huge Numbers in Two Days

Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Rakes in Huge Numbers in Two Days

The Raja Saab has managed to post respectable box-office numbers despite opening to largely negative word of mouth. On day 2, the Prabhas-starrer collected around Ra 26 crore, taking its overall total to approximately Rs 89 crore in just two days. The film had earned approximately Rs 9 crore from paid premieres alone, followed by a strong Rs 54 crore on its first day. Considering the mixed-to-poor audience feedback, these figures are being seen as decent, driven mainly by Prabhas’s massive star power, fan base and the festive season advantage.Film released amid huge expectations Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab was released amid huge expectations. But it quickly faced criticism for its lack of emotional narrative and length. Made on a reported budget of nearly Rs 350 crore, the film now faces the tough task of sustaining momentum beyond the opening weekend. While the initial collections suggest solid curiosity value, the real test lies in weekday performance and long-term audience acceptance. The Raja Saab also marks Malavika Mohanan’s Telugu debut, adding to the pre-release buzz. …
